Have you ever wondered why in every battle you have, the prize money is always different? Did you think it was random, or predetermined. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're wrong.

In actual fact, the prize money you get is controlled, and to a certain extent can be controlled by you! Each trainer has a "value" (a number) that when put into a formulae, can be used to calculate how much cash you'll get.

The other value that is acted upon is the level of your defeated opponents last Pokémon used. For the mathematically minded of us, like that of the well known Poké-lover Albert Einstein, here's the formula:

Base Money = Prize Money / Opponents Last Pokémon's Level

In other words, if you win [p]160, and your opponent was a level 10 Rattata, the base money was 16. How utterly pointless you are thinking. Maybe not.

You can reverse the formula to work out the prize money from the base money:

Prize Money = Base Money * Opponents Last Pokémon's Level

What does this mean to you? Using a Pokémon with Roar, you can save the highest level for last, then "kick some ass" (as such) for maximum rewards.

Another use for this is finding out what the prize money for the trainers mentioned in our RS walkthrough is.
