Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald Emerald-specific Stuff: Initial Report |

On the 16th September 2004 , Japan will be treated with the long awaited follow up game to Ruby and Sapphire - Pokemon Emerald. But of course, you knew that. You wouldn't have clicked onto this page otherwise. Here we'll go through all the images and information there currently is about this amazing game. Hold on tight. Just to start the page off, above are two adverts we found on the official site.

Now then, I hear you say. What's this first picture about? Well naturally, it's the two main characters in their new wardrobe. They've both decided to dress in green for this adventure, rather unsurprisingly.

Apparantly there's gonna be some new places to explore. They'll also be 7 new tournaments to compete in. Battle Dome will involve fighting a whole knock-out style tournament using 3 Pokemon, and Battle Tube involves some sort of labyrinth you have to fight through.

We know that the main character who gets the honour of a place on the front of the box will be Rayquaza. Groudon and Kyogre will still feature though, apparently fighting like two immature children. What a great example to set to young players. We also know that Team Magma and Aqua appear a lot more in this story, and they'll also start appearing in new places, like the Space Center in Mossdeep.

2-on-2 battles are about to become harder. Sometimes, when you challenge one trainer during your journey, another trainer will suddenly decide they want to battle, thus coming along and helping the original trainer. God knows why.

Pokemon are no longer statues! The animations they made in Crystal Version are back! As the three pairs of pictures below show:

The game should also be compatible with the Wireless Adaptor! It wouldn't come with one otherwise.

In Japan, a video was shown advertising Emerald before the 7th Movie. Psythor has managed to do something for once - capturing the images from it! They're all in a rather nice table below:

Now here's the rest of the pictures we currently have. They include some more examples of people sticking their noses into battles, Team Magma's appearance at the Mossdeep Space Center and the two characters standing outside their houses:

That's about it for the first initial report. I guess we have to say thanks to the official Japanese site and Nintendo's Official Japanese Site for the images used. They'd both sue us otherwise.
