Detailed Backstory & Other Information

Mythology

In the beginning, both Arceus and Archades were spawned from the same hand, divine and hallowed by nature. Their bodies perfectly identical, their souls split by a separation of supposed negative and positive traits.

Mythology teaches that Arceus chose to create life, and used his gift to bring together the world's elements to create water to drink from, land to live upon, and air to breathe in, whilst the same teaches that Archades was selfish, choosing to live his life only to serve himself. Through the years, Arceus grew weaker as it gave more and more, seeking moral fulfillment, whilst Archades continued to seek happiness down his own path, seemingly unaffected.

Upon completion, Arceus found his body completely broken down, and his strength dwindled to nothing more than an old Pokémon; appealing to his maker for a stay of execution only to be turned away. Seeing the pain in his brother's eyes, Archades gave up his body to allow Arceus to stay on and rule over his creation; accepting that he had been selfish, and sought redemption from his brother and his maker. Humbled, his brother accepted the body, but his maker declined.

As a result, Archades took upon Arceus' decayed body and sought to seek redemption for his sins and his greed, hiding in the shadows in fear of being seen with the body he had inherited. Allowing Arceus to look over the physical creation, Archades used his final days to establish his own world; a world where souls could be carried either to rest, or reincarnated to live a new birth. Upon the final decayment of his given body, Archades fled to his proclaimed 'soul world', in order to life a longer life and to seek eternal redemption from his master.

Current Story

Archades resides at the summit of Jacobs' Ladder, overlooking his brothers creation from the shadows. Acting as the protector of the souls, Archades appears to those who seek or are ready for eternal rest or to protect and safe those from terrible fates. As a result, very few have seen Archades, only appearing to those who are near or have seen death.

Believed to be the direct opposite of his brother, Arceus, Archades is seen as evil for his previous life antics and for his physical appearance, taking upon his decayed and rotten body. Seen as the harbinger of death, his lonely existence is a far cry from the life filled of virtues and satisfactions he once craved; his one desire to be 'good enough' and accepted in his masters eyes.

An expert battler, Archades is considered the stronger of the two brothers. His ability stems from his appearance and aura, the opposition Pokémon being unnerved in various and inconsistent ways, whilst his Speed and Attack prowess honed by practice in solitude and his need to stay hidden in the shadows.
