Misty has returned to Ash and Brock, after leaving them to go back to Cerulean gym, but after being kidnapped by Team Rocket, the evil cornel Hanson has steals Togepi. After getting Togepi back, Hanson’s Poke'mon attack leaving a big explosion on the field!

The smoke clears, and Pikachu is battling with the two Ninjask and the Shedinja. Suddenly, Togepi starts glowing and a bright light comes from him! All attacks are stopped. Princess Sarah recognises it as Safeguard. The Safeguard is sucked in by the mirage. Ash and co, Misty, Mirada and Princess Sarah are gone, leaving Jesse, James and Meowth confused. Hanson looks at the Mirage as it disappears. Hanson tells Team Rocket to follow them to the temple.

In the mirage, Togepi hovers back in the air above Misty. Princess Sarah asks Miranda where they are and Miranda replies they are inside the Togepi Paradise deep inside the mirage! Ash, Misty, May, Max and Brock are surprised! The mirage is damaged, trees are just branches and in some places there are no trees. In some parts of the paradise, weak and tired Togepi are resting by a stone, unhappy. May gets out her Poke’dex and checks Togepi. It says that Togepi is full of energy that makes people happy, but when it comes in contact with a human with an impure heart, this energy quickly disappears, leaving Togepi exhausted! Misty recognises the impure heart as Hanson! Miranda agrees and says that it must be Hanson’s evil plotting that’s leaving all the Togepi in pain and sadness.

Outside the door of the mirage, Team Rocket, Hanson and his Poke'mon are standing, Team Rocket are yet again confused why. Hanson orders his Shedinja to use solar beam, then his Ninjask to use hyper beam on the door of the mirage at the same position. Togepi flies out, but quickly, Ninjask attacks it and Togepi falls to the floor, Hanson picks Togepi up and Team Rocket congratulate him. Misty hits the mirage door, trying to get out. Ash helps. The weak Togepi use some sort of power, and everybody is now back out.

Hanson and Team Rocket go to the king and queen of Mirage Kingdom, saying about how Togepi is his, and asks if he could be the king of mirage kingdom, the king refuses and says how that Togepi belongs to Misty. Team Rocket surround king, and take him away.

Back with Ash and Co, Max says that Shedinja is dangerous. Brock and Max agree on using a fire type to beat Shedinja. Jesse is now on TV and says that Hanson is now going to be there king. The TV shows Togepi who looks weak.

Back at the palace, Team Rocket ask Hanson about there new positions. Hanson refuses them and tells his Shedinja to use solar beam and Ninjask to use hyper beam, but just then, Team Rocket go blasting off again, out of the palace wall! Tailow and Beautifly swoop down and have no sighting of the king. Brock tells Ash and Misty to break into the palace and crash the crowning ceremony, they agree and May says shes coming too.

Back at the palace, Hanson places Togepi onto a small table. The table lights up, and Hanson is told that by holding a Togepi, he is worthy to be king of the Mirage Kingdom.

Team Rocket are unhappy and Jesse is even on a walking stick (well twig really). Just then Team Rocket hide behind a tree as they see Brock, Miranda, Mudkip and Max running towards them. They then sit down at a table and pretend to be psychics, telling them where the king are queen are.

Hanson is doing his ceremony as Ash, May, Misty and Sarah appear. Hanson sarcastically welcomes them and smiles. Misty demands her Togepi back. Hanson sends out his Poke'mon and so does May. May sends out Torchic and it uses ember, making one of the Ninjask faint, bt the other Ninjask uses shadow ball, making Torchic faint. May calls it back. Ash sends Pikachu to use thunder, making the other Ninjask faint. Hanson orders Shedinja to use solar beam. A Togepi from the Togepi paradise uses safeguard to block the attack. They then use metronome and Misty’s Togepi flortes up into the air and evolves into a Togetic. Hanson shouts to Togetic ‘you dare evolve!’ he orders his Poke'mon to attack the Togepis as Togetic uses safeguard. Sarah says about Hanson has misjudged kindness which has given power to Togetic. Misty tells Togetic to leave the rest to her as she sends out a Gyardos. Ash wonders when Misty learned to control a Gyardos.

Misty tells Gyardos to use flamethrower as it takes out Shedinja straight away! May and Ash are shocked. The king then comes and the guards arrest him. Team Rocket are far away and are using binoculars. They are happy to see Hanson go to jail. May looks at the Togepi’s and say how much happy they are, and Max replies saying its all thanks to Togetic. The Togepi's return to the paradise. Saragh says she is so grateful.

Togetic flies to Misty and tells her it wants to stay and protect the Togepi, Misty wonders why and Sarah says that Togetic doesn’t want the paradise to go to further harm. Misty tells Togetic that Sarah, her family and the palace also need guarding as she starts to cry. She grabs Togetic and gives it a huge hug. Togetic flies back to the paradise and this all ends in tears. Ash, Pikachu and Misty all shout final good byes and Misty is still crying.

Just then, a Togepi appears at the bottom of her skirt, it must be the Togepi she has been seeking.

Misty is talking to Ash and co about how she expects them to be excellent at the things they do. Misty gets onto the blimp and heads back to Cerulean, with the promise to meat back up again. Now, we have a cut scene to the paradise, where Togetic is fine and happy.
