After arriving at Vedenturf town, Ash, May, Max and Brock meet The Phantom. Ash and co soon learn that The Phantom is just a shy boy named Timmy, with big dreams of entering the Poke'mon Contests. Unfortunately, Timmy’s mother, a strong business woman, has forbidden Timmy to enter contests. Hoping to help Timmy live his dream, Brock stepped in to pose as the Phantom, but things didn’t go exactly as planned, because Team Rocket shows up. In the end, Timmy was able to enter the Poke'mon contests, but the shy little boy they helped, will soon be May’s fierce opponent!

Timmy is late for the contest and May is nervous. It’s Skitty’s first contest. As Timmy turns up, Ash makes him quickly register and then Team Rocket appear. Jesse has already registered with her Dustox and says she’ll claim victory. James and Mewoth cheer.

It appears that Timmy was late due to homework. His mom had dumped a huge pile of books onto him, but his dad had came to the rescue, and Timmy left and went to the Poke'mon contest.

Timmy puts on his mask and laughs. Timmy’s mother walks into Timmy’s room just to see Timmy’s father in there. Timmy’s father says that Timmy is competing in the Poke'mon contest. Timmy’s mom is shocked!

The first person to be judged is Jesslana, she sends out Dustox. Dustox uses poison sting, whirlwind and Psybeam and it creates a supreme display. Jesse gets a 28.5.

Next its somebody with a charizard, then a Blastoise and they do rubbish.

Next it’s May with Skitty. Skitty uses blizzard and it fails. Then it uses doubleslap to juggle and it’s great. The judges give it a 24.9. Drew looks from the audience.

Timmy is next with Dusclops. Dusclops uses Will-o-wisp and psychic. It’s amazing. He gets a 27.8.

Timmys mom and dad are in a limo and they are arguing about Poke'mon.

The four people through to round two are Jesslana, Stefano, Timmy and May.

First it’s May vs Stefano. Outside the limo pulls up. Skitty knocks out Stefanos’ Wartortle so May and Skitty win. Next its Jesslana vs Timmy. Timmy’s mother and Father walk into the contest and Ash and co are worried. Timmy’s father looks at Ash and smiles. Everythings ok.

Out comes Dustox and Dusclops. Dustox uses whirlwind and it hits. Dusclops uses shadow punch, it hits. Dustox uses psybeam and it also hits. Dustox uses psybeam again and Dusclops uses psychic, there is an explosion and Jesslano’s cloths fly off (except her Team Rocket ones) , she turns out to be Jesse.

James and Meowth are shocked and time is up. Timmy and Dusclops win. James and Meowth jump down to the stage and do there motto. Pikachu uses thunderbolt and they go blasting off again.

Timmy’s mask flies off and Timmy notices his mum and dad. In the locker room, Timmy’s dad tells Ash, Timmy and co a little story.

When Timmy’s mother was younger she had Poke'mon. Her Poke'mon was a Poochyena. Timmy’s mother loved this Poochyena but sadly, her Poochyena was taken off her so she counld do better in life.

Timmy’s dad also explains that there is a reason that Timmy’s mother doesn’t want Timmy having Poke'mon, so he doesn’t get heartbroken.

Next it’s the final, May vs the Phantom. Dusclops and Skityy are let out of their Poke’balls. Dusclops uses focus punch and it hits. Skitty uses double slap but it doesn’t work because normal attacks don’t affect ghost Poke'mon. Dusclops strikes again with focus punch and it’s a great hit. May’s in trouble. Skitty uses double slap on the focus punch to send it back to Dusclops.

Dusclops uses will-o-wisp and psychic and it hits Skitty. Skitty uses Tackle but Dusclops blocks it with hyper beam. Skitty uses Blizzard and it does nothing. Dusclops hits Skitty with hyper beam. Brock suggests Assist and Skitty uses it. Assist turns out as gust and blocks Dusclops’s hyper beam.

Assist is used again and it turns out to be string shot, it stops Dusclop’s focus punch.

Timmys mother tells Timmy that there is no need for a mask because Dusclops is fighting for Timmy because it trusts him, just like May’s Skitty.

Another Assist is used as ember and Dusclops uses will-o-wisp. Assist is then Silver wind and it stops Dusclop’s psychic.

Skitty uses Blizzard and it hits Dusclops. May and Skitty win. May and Timmy shake hands. Timmy’s mom agrees to let Timmy compete in Poke'mon contests.

May is congratulated by the whole audience as she receivers her second ribbon.
