PUK has proved that, unless we are stupid, there is no day or night in Ruby or Sapphire. Visually, at least.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

It seemed inevitable really- the signs were all there. Everywhere you look there are similarities to Red, Blue and Yellow- the forest mimicking Viridian, the first gym that you can't do immediately, the rival that you've known for years (alledgedly).

Now it seems, that a difference state between Day and Night does not exist. PUK Senior staff member Psythor was playing the game over 6pm and noticed no difference in the colours.

Why was it left out is the questions asked by many- it could be because of the darkness of the GBA screen already- dark on dark isn't a good idea. 'Freak could be trying to return to basics to attract new players- the second generation, in order to revive Pokémon- this would also explain cutting nearly all proverbial ties with the older generation of Pokémon- the non-inclusion of most older Pokémon (although, they have been found in the code but no one knows how to get them), and Misty not doing what the dutch might say, "popped her clogs" (or something), she just leaves instead in an incredibly tearful moment.

Of course, we could speculate that Psythor didn't consider that night time may not happen at 6pm in the game, rather at an earlier or later, but that'd be silly.
