Unbelievably, Pokémon UK is now an astonishing three years old- to celebrate we're launching something rather amazing!

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

First of all, on such a momentous occasion, PUK, and more specifically myself (Psythor), would like to thank all our readers for making us who we are- without you, I wouldn't have continued improving this website, probably.

Over the three years, Pokémon UK has seen a lot of change: what started out as a frames based "clunky" badger sized site has grown in size, popularity and technical ability- we mastered using CGI scripts and SSI (and inevitably making load times as long as possible), and then of course, PHP. PUK these days is like a very streamlined polar bear.

Anyway, back to the present, today to celebrate Pokémon UK's anniversary of birth the beggining of what we hopefully allow us to provide readers with a better service.

"The world's local Pokémon site", as HSBC might say, that's what we want to be. We are going to achieve this by what a business analyst or a drunk translator might say, "glocalisation". In other words, customizing content for different parts of the world. McDonald's did it by changing the French mascot to Asterix (favoured over Ronald), and launching a cow-free Big Mac in India- if they can do it, why can't we.

PKMN.NET is going to be our global portal- allowing you to customize the PUK experience to where you live- there are links to filtered PUK news pages for Britain and America, as well as the international site, which you are probably reading now. Several languages are available including English, Dutch, French and Danish (as they have been for some time).

PKMN.NL is the place you'll be going to for your Dutch Pokémon stuff- based on the PUK Lite engine, PKMN.NL will give you all of PUK's content in Dutch, or failing that, if the content isn't available in Dutch, in English. Most of the main news stories are in Dutch too. Dutch people'll love it, other people will wonder why there are rude words scattered around!

So, to cut a long story short:
