Jelmer has supplied me with some more information on the recently announced remakes of Pokémon Red and Green for Game Boy Advance. Updated Again!

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Update 16/09:

We've got [another] screenshot for you. It's much the same. Engage eyes, now:

Update 14/09:

We've now obtained two screenshots, thanks to PokéFor, and saBA.

Before we start, long story short: Green was released in Japan instead of Blue, Blue was released later, Red & Blue came out in America.

Anyway, the games will actually be titled "Pokémon Fire Red" and "Pokémon Leaf Green". No official announcements on "Pokémon Burnt-Corpse Black".

We also already know that they will basically be Pokémon Red and Green with GBA style graphics, and presumably gameplay enhancements (setting items to Select etc). As if that isn't exciting enough already, the new games will be compatible with Pokémon Colosseum for Gamecube, the sequel to Pokémon Stadium 2, and best bit: LINK UP WITH RUBY AND SAPPHIRE! Do you hear me? TRADING OLD POKÉMON AND STUFF!

Despite speculation of an October release, these reports are completely false, and should be treated with extreme sarcasm.

PUK will have more details as soon as they are released.

Thanks to Jelmer for this
