"Pokémon Colosseum BattleMaster 2004" is much like the tournaments of old (around Y2K), with heats around the country culminating in a massive final. Here's how its going on:

Round One

This takes place at Toys 'R' Us stores around the country, between 10am and 5pm, on Saturday 24th April.

It appears all you have to do to stand a chance of qualifying to the second round is fill in a form- containing a puzzle and a tie-break question, and stick it in the box.

You will also be able to try out Pokémon Colosseum.

North

Round Two

This takes place at some UCI cinemas around the country on Saturday May 1st between 10am and 12pm. This time, if you get through, you'll actually have to battle with your copy of RS. Even if you don't qualify, if you turn up anyway, you'll still get a chance to have a go on Colosseum before its out here.

Those who are still in the competition though must have Pokémon that obey these rules(as quoted by the official Battlemaster site):

• Competition starts 10am Saturday May 1st, so please leave plenty of time
• Players must have at least 6 Pokémon in their party
• No individual Pokémon can exceed level 75
• The sum level of Pokémon in your party must not exceed 300
• You must have saved your game in a Pokémon centre
• The Pokémon in your party must not be holding any items
• You may not use two or more of the same Pokémon in your party
• Your Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire game packs must be the English language version

The top three players from each cinema will goto the Grand Final in London.

Grand Final

This is being held on Saturday May 8th at the bfi London IMAX in London. (Obviously).

Battling rules this time are that there is no limits to how powerful your Pokémon can be. No cheating, though.

The Battlemaster website says everyone who reaches the final will win amazing prizes.

Astonishingly, the winner gets a prize thats fit for a king, or a Psythor.

• A trophy!
• "Colosseum Mega Pak"
• Free Nintendo games for a year!
• A Pokémon Scooter!
• A years subscription to Official Nintendo Magazine.

Amazing stuff. PUK will hopefully have some VERY VERY VERY EXCITING followup news in the next few days. Can't say anything else right now.

Incidentally, PUK will have representation at the final, so look out for us if you make it there.
