Nintendo have finally spilled the beans as to when Europeans will be able to send crudely drawn pictures of various aspects of the anatomy to each other wirelessly with their new handheld console!

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

The DS will reach European shores on March 11th - that's the 20th (!) anniversary of Mikhail "Gorby" Gorbachev becoming leader of the Soviet Union.

The handheld, which features two screens- one of which is a touchscreen, will cost £99.99 - or in the rest of Europe, €149,99 - meaning that if you use pounds to pay, you're better off. It will presumably include the breathtaking demo of Metroid that came free with the US version.

Excitingly, Pokémon Dash, the first Pokémon game on the system will apparently be a launch game- we'll have more on this as soon as we hear something. Unfortunately, the critically acclaimed "Till Monkey simulator" does not actually exist.

If you'd like to pre-order a Nintendo DS, and line Psythor's pockets with ill-gotten gains at the same time, you can pre-order a DS by clicking here.

To get a full reaction to this news, we decided to ask our regular pundits, astronomer and evil UKIP patron Patrick Moore and former US President Bill Clinton.

I did not play games on that handheld.

Given the success of the recent probes to a moon of Saturn, I'd say that if Nintendo can cash in on this with some sort of badly thought out space gimmick, sales will rocket and Nintendo will be a long way into the black of both space and balance sheets.

Thank you pundits, and thank you everyone who sent this news tip in!
