British Channel 4 viewers have voted Pokémon the 45th greatest cartoon of all time- ahead of teh mighty Captain Caveman and Scooby Doo.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Of course, the winner was obviously The Simpsons, followed by Tom & Jerry, and South Park. For those of you not familiar with the format of the programme- it was around three hours long, and featured clips from each of the top 100. A lot, if not all, of the cartoons featured have minor "celebrities" telling the camera what they think. The term "celebrity" is used loosely- it's usually someone like Richard Blackwood, who is famous for... erm...

Anyway, in the Pokémon segment, the pundits were (from left to right) Dave Foley (comedian and actor), Paul Cackett (the channel manager at Toonami), Jonathan Clements (Author of the Animé Encyclopedia), and Gigi Morley, former lottery presenter who can now be seen on the TV wasteland that is The Advert Channel.

Rather than have me try and give the gist of what they had to say, why not download a video of the Pokémon segment? Click here. (~2mb, WMV, right click, save target as).
