Section: Pokémon around the world

The American space agency NASA have rather bizarrely teamed up with the Pokémon TCG to teach kids about the "real science behind Deoxys". Hmm...

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

The collaboration coincides with the recent release of the Pokemon Trading Card Game called EX Deoxys. As we all know- Deoxy's name and backstory is derrived from DNA (and lasers)- and this is incidentally a central theme in the educational bit.

The NASA/Pokémon site has different sections on different aspects of related sciences- meteorites, aliens, DNA, and something right wing Nazi Republicans hate: the Ozone Layer and global warming. Hopefully it'll have something on evolution too, as afterall, it's a central theme in Pokémon.

Exciting stuff, you'll agree. We asked Captain Science, aka Stephen Hawking, and his sidekick, "Test tube boy", aka Francis Crick, to comment on this news.

Go away! I don't want to talk to a Pokémon site! I've got important science stuff to do! I'm here figuring out how the world works and you're telling people about Pokémon! This country!

Holy space agency Captain! This is great news! I think whoever had this idea is a gene-ius. Hahahaha!

Thank you pundits.
