PUK's Psythor and Typhlosion were both at the Deoxys event in Leicester yesterday, and here's what they have to say about it.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

It was quite a relief when I met Mike, aka Typhlosion, at Leicester station- despite having known him online for the last two years, I'd never actually met him- excellently, it turns out that he isn't an "internet weirdo", nor serial killer! I could tell the day was going to go well.

In the above photograph, you can see the two of us - proving that we have indeed met and Mike is either not an internet villain, or just a rubbish one who didn't manage to steal my camera.

Just to play it safe, I kept suggesting we go for a walk down a dark alleyway, just to keep him on his toes. But anyway...

Pokémon! That was what we were here for!

We were both after our aurora tickets and wanted to get them as soon as possible- fortunately, it was dead easy to do- partly because we'd come prepared with "Mystery Gift" setup, and partly because of the excellent and enthusiastic staff Nintendo had cleverly dotted around the small enclave.

This chap really liked the staff, if you know what I mean.

Apart from the ticket collection, there was loads of other stuff going on- official and unofficial. Some of the people there seemed to be holding some impromptu battles... I'm just glad nobody challenged me.

There was a table where you could try out the TCG, and have a go on the fourthcoming Pokémon XD, which is out in Britain and presumably the rest of Europe on November 18th.

I thought XD was a bit minimalist in the graphics department, until someone told me the television wasn't switched on. Turns out it looks just like Colosseum.

Mickey meanwhile, was having a go on Pokémon Emerald, which was bolted onto a big elaborate stand. He lamented at the player's rubbish squad.

As he's a rock 'ard northerner, and taller than me, I certainly didn't want to mess with Michael- I didn't stop me from quoting Alan Partridge whenever he spoke, and saying, "did you just say something then, or was it a noise?"

Here's a cabinet showing all of the latest Pokémon toys and that available.

Best of all, and this made my day, I was recognised as a celebrity! Sort of! Someone was standing around taking photos of stuff, and I eventually dared to ask him why he was taking photos... "I'm taking them for you actually!", he replied!

Hathy17 (not sure on the spelling there), said that he recognised me, but not Michael- although this is largely due to my t-shirt (see photos above). He said he didn't know whether to say anything as I was like, famous and that. I could have just made that up to boost my part in this- but it was definately like being recognised as a celebrity.

Pinsir24, also of PUK forums fame, apparently also saw me, but didn't say anything because of the following reasons:

He looked busy, talking to possibly another important PUK member, I didn't want to offend the great Typhlosion.
His beard looked threataning.

To be honest, we were standing around for hours waiting for someone to say "Hello"... and my beard... it's not THAT bad, is it?! Is it?!
