It's ever so slightly past midnight now.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

It's January 1st, and nearly midday, but we're going to do this anyway.

Yes, in comes 2006 - hopefully a better year in some respects than the last one, which started the aftermath of the Asian tsunami, and moved onto the July 7th London terrorist attacks, the eastern earthquakes, the deaths of many great people, including Ronnie Barker, George Best and Richard Whiteley, and many other horrors such as the FA Cup Final.

However, 2005 was also a good year. Remember Live 8? Remember London winning the 2012 Olympics? Remember England winning the Ashes? Remember Manchester United beating Chelsea?

It's also been a great year for PKMN.NET. The year started with the celebration of the site's 5th birthday, and Joeno's 20th birthday.

In Febuary the forums were treated to a complete wash out, and Clo and Luke were blessed with a baby girl.

In March the 3D build you see around you was introduced, originally with a Porygon on the main logo.

April came, and the traditional April Fools joke fooled many (go on, admit it :P). Three new 4th Generation Pokémon were also released, and yours truely managed to break his arm playing football.

In May, we updated the rules. That's it.

June was far more exciting. Psythor turned 18 and the Johto Name Rater began to become just as hated as his Kanto cousin.

In July, the forums were upgraded to SMF, following a downtime of approximately 2 weeks, during which a lot of people went insane, being diagnosed with "Lack of PKMN.NET-itis".

August, and a new forum was introduced - due to the amount of games being played in Role Play, the "Forum Games" forum was introduced. I turned 16 as well!

September was a really fun month. Rex turned 17, and every single one of thought you were facing the end of PKMN.NET, when the Admins' all started fighting. It was all a big joke though, and the sentence HA HA YOU ALL FELL FOR IT! remains an immortalized line.

October came, and the domain name changed from pkmn.co.uk to pkmn.net. England finally had something to shout about when Nintendo supplied us with a Deoxys tour, during which the first meeting between two Admins took place.

In November the only event was the 20th birthday of Lapras King.

Then finally came December. Phil turned 19, in the same month where he finally lost his PokéMole crown, as Teh PC won PokéMole 3.

It's been a long year, but in retrospect, a good'un.

From the entire staff of PKMN.NET, we wish you a very very happy 2006.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
