Shiny Pokemon are incredibly rare (becoming less and less each generation), but still a novelty people appreciate. However, the usage of them is something that I've noticed.
I only really use 2 of the Shinies. And I have quite a few.
I only use my competitive Haxorus, from BW2 and my Camperupt which was my breeding machine. However, now Talonflame exists I imagine Talonflame's going to be taking over its spot.
Opinions?

Depends on my shiny - I use my Ampharos a LOT, mainly because it's IVs are 31/x/31/31/27/31 and a modest nature, so it's pretty much perfect for competitive anyways and 4 less SpD for one of my favourite Shinies isn't bad.
Even my Exploud, which is 31/x/?/?/?/31 and Modest I still use a lot when battling, but only because I prefer the shiny.
But things like Poliwhirl just get boxed never to be seen again, or traded to someone who'll actually I use them (like Chloe now has my Skrelp ^_^)

Well, I used to use my Red Gyrados a lot back in Heart Gold, but that really should not count for obvious reasons.
I tried using my Shiny Swadloon, y'know, to evolve it. But anything that requires happiness to evolve hates me... In other words I use my S. Swadloon for nothin'.
EDIT: Finally Evolved it, and now it doesn't look too different from the original.

The only Shiny I've got is an Octillery (unless you count those Flabebes with blue flowers.) I don't use it at all, I just keep it safe in my PC Box.

^Flabébé's different flower colors are not considered shiny. Flabébé's shiny form has the side of its head blue instead of yellow but as far as I know, the flower stays the same color.

I use my shiny Jolly 31/31/31/x/31/31 Scyther in some battles for the novelty of it, but it's not the most competitive Pokemon, even with a perfect IV spread. Still, shiny Scyther. <3
Others I don't really use, but I may use Koffing, Shuppet and Bidoof someday if I can get them sent over and trained up.

My most currently used shiny is Vanilluxe. I kept it in my team as a Vanillite until it evolved twice. I'll use the Haxorus I got in my B2 as soon as Pokemon Bank comes out. My other current X shinies are Durant, Furfrou, and Diggersby. Furfrou might just mainly stay in its Box but the other two may see some use at some point in the future.

I've used my Shiny Garchomp I got in a trade. It might be hacked, but it was Adamant with near max IVs.
Other than that, I WOULD have used my Shiny Cloyster...but I realized that since it was fully evolved it doesn't know any good moves. I also considered using my Shiny Luvdisc...since it had good stats...for a Luvdisc. Then I realized it's a Luvdisc.

The only time I recall having a shiny Pokemon on my main team was my old Hypno, Shazam, wayyyy back on Silver (RIP ;-; ) Caught it as a Drowzee on Route 35; Drowzee and Hypno have been long-time favorites of mine, so it was just that much more special to have one as my first shiny that isn't just handed to you.
Most other shinies since have had... mixed usage, but never on my main team. Not helping that much is the fact that at least two of them I kept from evolving because their evolutions' shiny colorings don't interest me as much, so I used them mostly for in-game fun. Still, shinies are cool, and I'd like to rectify not having a shiny on my team four generations in a row some time... assuming I get a game after Y. I haven't been feeling the Pokemon vibe for a while now.
(Is Chansey still useable with Eviolite? Green Chansey ftw <3 )

I generally choose not to because I cba to ev train them ^.^ Not that I have many shiny pokes that I like, really...
Except my Luxray, I really liked him.
I do have a shiny Cubone (did someone from pkmn.net give that to me?) but I already had a lv 100 Cubone and couldn't be bothered to train another one :s

To be honest, I don't really use my shinies a whole lot.
I used my Red Gyarados a lot in HeartGold, but that's a Gyarados.
The only shinies I've really used were Sigilyph because I didn't have a flying type, and Rapidash because my team just fell apart.
My Raticate's only seen occasional usage. I haven't used for the last 2 or so years...
I have tried to use my Seaking and Luvdisc, but I'm too fond of my Greninja to push him out the party.

My shiny greninja is cool in battles, though i think it is greninja in general that i am having a problem with.

^How so? If it's not surviving attacks, have you tried making it remember Mat Block? It is pretty good. I like that attack which is very unusual for me as I hate Protect and Detect. In fact I rather like the moves introduced this gen that block attacks more due to their side effects.

Mat Block is completely useless in singles - but if you play doubles it has some uses.
The problem with it is, it can only be used the first turn you're out and doesn't have priority, so Mach Punch can still deal nicely with Greninja.
But in doubles, mat block is amazing because (iirc) it defends your partner also so they have a free turn to set up (which is usually impossible in doubles because of how fast-paced it is)
On a side not, unlike protect it doesn't block status moves.

i think the pump missing constantly missing is annoying me more than anything

Shiny Octillery is my Suction Cups slave.

Who needs suction cups when you have rock formations? They guarantee a bite in my experience.

Out of my current Shinies:
Ampharos: Use on occasion, but I rarely find a place for it in my team =/
Rayquaza: In like every battle my opponent doesn't ban it from xD
Genesect: In literally EVERY battle (and if they try and stop my I point out it's in OU >:D)
