3 times I have tried to beat quicksand cave...3 times I have had a monster house blocking the stairs. What it the best way to get through one?
Edit: 4 times. This time I appeared in the middle of one after going Down some stairs
Edit: don't worry, I have figured out how to escape them... Get caught 6 times then throw the ds out the window!

Discharge is a start, or any water-spread move.
-
Vacuum cut, or vacuum wave, or whatever the move is called. That's what I used in PMD2. It comes in handy when you're fighting Luxray, too.
-
I've only ever gotten out of one once.
I had a Riolu that knew vacuum-whatsit and i was a Skitty so i used sing repeatedly on the pokemon close enough to attack :p it was really rough going for the first few turns, thank cod i had a couple revive seeds.
-
But SR/XL does prove a good point. Note, if you are a Pikachu in the game like I am, you get not one, but two room-sweeping moves. Vacuum whatever and discharge.
-
Ahem, been a while since I played those games but I believe the best way to escape one is to...FIGHT IT. KILL THEM ALL. With ranged attacks preferably. Also, use your orbs like the one that confuses them or cross eyes them. You'll escape or kill em all in no time.
-
Oh man I so need to play those games...just realised.

I have tododile and tried using vacuum CUT. It dosnt work overly well... And after 2 turns of 5 on one I lose before it does any real damage. It did work wonders against the luxio. Killed em all except luxray in 3 moves then 4 on one against luxio won, but it isn't strong enough to kill the enemies in quicksand pit

VACUUM CUT. that's what it was!! :33 thank you XD

If you can't be bothered or w/e to fight just use a petrify orb and pick off a foe at a time or just head to the stairs.
-
Yea, I get trapped where I can't reach a shop and they block stairs, the only useful items I have can only stop one of the enemies and a warp seed, which if I use lands my partners in it and I lose anyway
-
Run until you find a narrow corridor. You'll be able to fight them one at a time.

That's the best strategy if you haven't got any room-based (damaging) moves or orbs to use c: Even better if you have a status-inducing move or seed, like the Sleep Seed or something.
-
It depends on what Pokemon I'm using. Moves that hit more than one opponent are good. And so are Orbs and certain Seeds.
-
First, I'd advise bringing lots of revive seeds, oran berries and other healing items. Second, I'd advise teaching you or your partner a move that can reach multiple spaces. Third, if you have another two pokemon with you, make them go in front and take out as many pokemans as they can before they die. Fourth, try to lead the pokemans into a one block wide tunnel so that you can fight them one at a time. Fifth, if all else fails, put the options on your partners so that they run away and book it.
-
Change your partners strategy to "Go the other way" then back into a corridor. Bring lots of Max Elixars so you can take them all out. Then change your partners strategy back so they don't get away =]
-
I don't mean to be picky, but you should tell your partner to "Stay Put" or whatever it's called so that you don't have to wait as long for support. Plus, if it's NOT a monster house, you'll have to cross the room to wait for your partner to catch up after you change the tactic back.
All that said, you need to use either the bottleneck method, or use vacuum cut and discharge and possibly earthquake in conjunction (well, maybe not earthquake), or level up to 100 and wipe everyone out with a normal attack.
-
best way to beat a monster house is to have a petrify orb. use it and take them out one at a time. if you dont have one of them, try to get down a tunnel so they can only come at you in single file. moves like cut and wide slash are good because almost all of the starters can learn thhem. vaccuum cut is worse than useless. never teach it to your guys. protect is good as well. stops them hitting you and it lasts a few turns. make sure you keep a protect up though becasue if you dont your most likely dead.
-
I just use blizzard and it oneshots them all.
-
blizzard has terrible accuracy though. could work on articuno because he learns mind reader so it wont miss.

Buff yourself up like crazy using the Wonder Mail Generator. It's a seperate website. Great, now I sound like spam. Yaaay, spam!
Just look it up on Google. Make sure you're using the correct generator, though. There are seperate ones for Red and Blue, Time and Darkness, and Sky.

I just make sure I have nothing important
and let them kill me
or just discharge to death if I have it on me
-
My trick when I enter a monster house:
Change your teammate's tactic to "get out of here", then attack one turn.
You mate will eventually go away, so follow him and defeat the pokemons one by one, you're not surrounded by ennemies.
