Title: How long does it take to get a shiny?
Post by: Petzbreeder on January 17, 2015, 23:15
I'm going to start working on a video tomorrow which will be about 3 hours and 45 minutes long. The reason I'm making it so long is because I'm playing a 3 CD collection of 90's songs to pass the time while I'm breeding.

I'd like to show other people how hard it is to get a shiny, even with the Masuda method, so I'm making the video showing me breeding from the moment I put the Pokemon in the Day-Care to the moment I get a shiny Pokemon, or more than one if I'm lucky!

During the 3 hours and 45 minutes that I'll be recording, am I likely to get a shiny?
How many Pokemon do you think I could hatch in that time without Hatching O-Power? I've been wanting a shiny Chespin for a while so I may try hatching one in my video.
Youtube most likely wont allow me to upload the video, could I share it via Dropbox and link to it here?

I don't think 3 hours and 45 minutes will be enough. I know people who've done Masuda Breeding for weeks until eventually the PC fills up and they spend days wonder trading it all away.

Myself, I've never successfully Masuda bred anything, I give up early.

No but seriously, even with shiny charm/masuda method it'll probably take you like a week to get a shiny.

it depends man

some people get shinies within an hour of looking/breeding for them, some people get them within a month or more. its really all down to rng and luck.
