Title: Hidden items + picking up in Pokemn Fire red

I'm checking the places in Pokemon Fire red in a website called StrategyWiki and it says about hidden items
I wanted to ask if you could tell me how to pick them up?

Once you know where they are, stand on a spot next to them, look at them, and press A and you'll pick them up.

its amazing what can be hidden away in people attics.
