has anyone given a listen to death grips' new ...thing?
i'm not sure what to call it. is it an album? a soundtrack? what is it a soundtrack to?
either way it's incredible i love this more than most of their other releases

I haven't heard it and didn't realise it got released, I'll edit this post when I have heard it
EDIT: Right, I presume this is the soundtrack to the film Zach Hill's making. I'm on the fourth track and so far it's great, it has that classic in your face feeling that Death Grips usually provides, plus it sounds fine without any vocals (whereas a lot of Government Plates felt very repetitive and sparse vocally as an example).
atm it's looking like it'll sit 4th out of their releases for me but there's plenty left to go

Think this is pre-split, Jenny Death is pre and post split (announcement of the split that is; I think after they announced all tour plans were cancelled and they were just gonna work in the studio until the full release of The Powers That B) I think, although part of me just thinks that them breaking up will lead to another album down the line.

demos were actually leaked about 4 months ago on reddit, as they were accidentally put up on a2b2 (andy morin's site)
i can only assume this was something that was both post and pre split, as some of the songs were definitely earlier versions or same versions on the a2b2 leak with different titles.
honestly, i don't know if it's fair to even call it a split anymore. especially with the bbpoltergeist tweets, i can only assume it's death grips being death grips.

Whilst I don't think they'll ever tour again (or maybe even never perform live again together in any circumstance) I think they'll just heavily decrease the volume they've been putting out; I think Zach will probably go back to focusing on Hella or other musical projects (with Andy reverting back to just audio engineer I guess?) and Stefan will probably go back to his painting or something. Either way, their output as a group will definitely decrease in comparison to what we've had over the past 3-4 years

i'm hoping for a tour; i wanted to see them on the last tour, but they cancelled all the dates by the time it came to buy the tickets.

Yeah Andy's really interesting, going from mates with Zach to audio engineering to synth player to (possibly) prison inmate to friends with R Patz. Would love to see a documentary about him but at the same time it might dampen the mystique about him

maybe he can leave clues around the internet about his presence again
pretty fun the last time he pulled a stunt like that
and really the only fitting way to learn about all the crap he's probably done

I'm a little disappointed The Powers That B has been pushed back (again...) so now the whole concept behind the track names and album title isn't as powerful =[
