So after some interest was shown in the idea topic, I've decided to setup a monthly tournament open to anyone to enter (except me). Why enter? Well here's why! The prize for each tournament will be a clone of something on my list (http://tinyurl.com/ocqswa6)! I may do themed prizes to fit with the tournament theme, but we'll see how much interest this drums up.
All you have to do to enter is simply put your Showdown name, timezone, and available times. To avoid people signing up and not following through, I will be allowing two days of signups and then you'll be paired up for battles. If any problems occur, please PM me and I will sort them out as best as I can. The aim is to try to finish these tournaments before a motnh passes, so please try to get battles done as soon as possible.
Check the below post often, as it will be updated with all the information needed every time there is a new tournament.

This round will be an NU tournament! This means that any Pokemon from the NU tier only (http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/tags/nu) are allowed to participate! Matches will be best 2/3, and saving replays is recommended if you'd like proof of your victory.

Showdown messed up and I thought about what I had used and what I tried to do with my team. I came to the conclusion that I am not cut out for this gen's NU. Plus my schedule is kinda up in the air. With all this, I am disappointed to announce that I am retiring from the tourney, mainly due to my schedule at this present time. However I will compete in the next one if you will have me.

We could just have Sappy battle Hahex, although this is another good solution.

For the sake of fairness, I'm going to say that we'll just continue on with how things are going, but there's always next tournament, and I think you're going to like the next one, Muhed.
I urge the rest of you to finish your matches soon, so we can move onto the next set of matches and finish this before the deadline.

I've just beaten Scout 2-1. It was close and very entertaining.

We're only waiting on Liam and GL now. It's been a week, and I fear we're not going to finish in time, so I'm going to say that if the match isn't finished tonight, I'm going to move GL to the next round, since we've been waiting on Liam. No hard feelings or anything, just want to keep this moving at a pace that can see an outcome before the two weeks is up, and we still have a few rounds to go here.

Since we're clearly not going to make the 2 week deadline, I've decided to change this to a monthly tournament to give us room to finish each tour. Still, please finish your matches as soon as possible to ensure we meet this deadline. :)

To be honest, I'm guessing the interest isn't here. This was only a 12 person tournament and there were multiple drop-outs and we couldn't get the tournament done in time. It seems like people were interested in the idea, but not participating, so I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm gonna play some Smash Bros.

I only dropped out because at that point, my internet was terrible so I was kinda forced to. I'm still interested, it's just i'll have to make sure my internet won't cut out during a match, which is happening less and less.

True, but for those with enough free time, this could be a fun thing to do. In fact, I have a great idea for an X/Y/OR/AS christmas event for PKMN.NET. If you guys would like to know, i'd be glad to tell.

If there's an idea there's no point in hiding it because any idea being put across is useful; even if there isn't a solid response to it you'll at least get some feedback and any activity will help the site. Post it in another thread though; for example, in this case it's a tournament so make a new thread in this board as an idea thread and let people respond to it =]
