Terrance West comes up with the huge (arguably the block of the year) and crushes a linebacker, and pretty much saves Hoyer, who throws a TD to a wide open Taylor Gabriel. Gipson gets his 6th pick and Donte (W)hitner gets one of his own and I think he forced fumble. Browns improve to 5-3

I am so happy about the Steelers getting murdered by the Jets today.  It gave us this gem too:

Anyway, a desperately needed bye week for the Ravens.

Well, with a little help from the jets, Cleveland leads the AFC North. I'll enjoy it for now because it likely won't last.

Palmer tore his ACL.  Fingers crossed that Stanton can lead them to the promised land.

Very good article on Palmer's career leading up to last year's first Seahawks game (where they got crushed)

^Hope that he comes back healthy and ready to play next season. Best of luck to Carson.

Well, Pettine says that he's gonna make Gordon work his way back onto the roster. I honestly like this idea, because our WR corps atm (the one that was called a patchwork job at the beginning of the season) have beenn working their back ends off, and they've done a good job.

Thoughts?

Throwing out some random Ravens offense stats today;

Justin Tucker hit a 55 yarder like it was nothing for one thing.  Straight through the middle and would still be good from the 60.

Forsett - 22 carries, 183 yards, 2 TDs.  That's 8.3 ypc.

Joe Flacco - 18/24, 243 yards, 1 TD.  That's over 10 YPA.  120.6 passer rating.

And Torrey Smith I think had like 60 YAC which is unheard of from him.  He rarely gets YAC.

After a stressful day with 3 picks thrown, and the Defense and Crowell basically keeping him afloat, Hoyer is clutch. On the final drive (during of which, I was screaming at my TV), #6 is 4-7 and 61 yards, with Cundiff kicking the game winning FG.

Also, something cool (for you AFC north fans): The AFC north atm is the only division to have ever had all of their teams at least 3 games above .500

However, the polar opposite in the NFC south, they are the only division to have ever had all of their teams 3 games below .500

Also the NFC South compared to the 2010 NFC West (who sent the 7-9 Seahawks to the playoffs):

1. Falcons (4-7)
2. Saints (4-7)
3. Panthers (3-7-1)
4. Buccaneers (2-9)

The 2010 NFC West by this point:

1. Seahawks (5-6)
2. Rams (5-6)
3. 49ers (4-7)
4. Cardinals (3-9)

I have friends who are Falcon and Saint fans. This is beautiful! When people say that the Browns suck, I remind them of the NFC south. The topic is dropped quickly.

^I know.

Anyways, I was thinking during the Ohio State game today about the Browns drafting a certain WR, his name is Devin Smith. This guy is a terrifying deep threat, his catches, although fewer than most, are on average about 40 yards iirc. Imagine him on the opposite side of the field as Gordon, then put Gabriel in the slot. I know that Smith is not as good as Watkins, but man is he fast.
