Topic: Celebi Available from Pokemon Bank's release!

So Nintendo put out their latest Direct information video.

They revealed that if you use Pokemon bank by September 2014 you will receive a free Celebi! You can get it during the free trial from 27th December to the 31st of January too.

Well, we had HGSS Celebi a few years ago at GAME.  Not sure if it was the first time, mind.

I'll be getting it for sure, probably just for transferring pokemon from 5th gen if it still lets us (and for the celebi obviously celebi is my favorite onion fairy). The only problem is paying it on time & also I wonder what happens to our pkemon if we /do/ run out of time before withdrawing them all? do they get deleted or locked away?

Apparently you can withdraw them for a set period of time after your trial runs out / you stop paying, but you can no longer deposit extras. I don't think it's been said what this period of time is.

The HGSS Celebi had Nasty Plot, and this one doesn't. I still need to pick that one up on one of my games, but IVs, nature and RNG... and it's no easier for X/Y. .-.

Anyway, this is pretty cool though. Certainly wasn't expecting a free gift, so hey, that's really nice.

It also has an exclusive form of False Swipe.  I know I won't be using it for the metagame.

^ I don't believe the base power of this 'False Swipe' is confirmed though - it could turn out to be 90000000000 BP (okay, like 150 at most) but never KO. That'd be interesting.

Also, I'll be using this competitively. There's still TM moves - there's still Level Up moves - although it will miss nasty plot =/

Yeah, but I got a pretty good one back in Gen IV so this one is not taking that place.  (It actually has a Timid nature so I was ridiculously lucky there).

I've just thought; no one has yet seen a celebi in game, right? Why would they randomly give out a celebi? Let's be honest - it's got no link to the game and is completely irrelevant. Which leads me to think one of two things:
-> Celebi has been made a fairy type
-> Celebi will trigger an event
The second doesn't seem as likely - that'd be giving you two random Legendaries xD but the first seems well within it's design - moreso than psychic - and as no one can yet have seen or battled it, it's entirely possible that it has indeed been changed!

Granted, it's probably some really lose link game freak have made like "it's the time travel pokemon and pokébank travels you through time", but I just thought I might be a possibility?

^ as awesome as that would be, bank can't store items iirc. Depends on how you recieve it I guess, but given that it's through bank I would assume it won't be holding anything =/
