So this shall be a debate over the law that states that gambling should not be allowed in Pokemon. I feel it doesn't matter if there is gambling. Its been in Pokemon since Gen 1 and I see no reason for the ban. What about the rest of you? Should the ban be kept, or should we try to overturn it if possible?

Haha, the states bans everything it deems even remotely harmful, why else do you think they would ban kinder eggs? Canada's not much better, but at least we have kinder eggs.
But if they think banning gambling in pokemon will prevent gambling addiction, they should ban schools from doing lotteries as well because how is that any better? Sure, they may claim it's for a good cause, but how many kids do you think really care about that?
Although, I will admit, I did find Voltorb Flip in HGSS kinda fun. It was much easier to get all the coins you needed for whatever as well. I do wish they'd bring back the game corner and at least have something like that if they don't want to have slot machines.

Is this something that just recently came to light, or regarding the lawsuits of nearly 15 years ago?
Let's be real -- in a time where you can gamble real money by creating an account online, there's no real point in trying to protect the kiddies by banning fake slot machines.

Yeah, that's where Voltorb Flip came from. They were originally slots. I prefer Voltorb Flip though, but that's just me.
Didn't the EU version of FF13-2 have the slots though? Or is it just Pokemon that they took it out of?

FF13-2 still have the slots here, I think it's just Pokemon that had it taken out of.

I guess it's because of the 'for dem kidz' image that Pokemon has. Although I would like to read a story about one person who got a genuine gambling problem from Pokemon of all things.

Might be wrong, but it think HGSS lost the casino because gambling got moved to one of the higher age ratings, and Pokémon didn't really want to make it higher. That explains why FF has it, as isn't that a 12 / T?
Still think it's completely absurdly ridiculous, as tbh I think it's more likely to negatively effect someone who's 12 than 6, because at least the 12 year old gets the concept of money, the 6 year old won't really know what gambling is xD

People... are trying to ban virtual gambling when I could just make an account on some website in, like, 5 minutes, and gamble REAL money. Good job people, we're really saving the kiddies!

It's the same with Formula One 2014- The Force India and Williams cars weren't allowed to have their Smirnoff/Martini sponsorship logos on the cars otherwise the game would have been pushed up to a 16+. Same for back when the F1 cars had tobacco logos on them.

I was disappointed about the ban with no Game Corner in ORAS. The roulette table and slots were my favorite in the series. I especially LOVED watching the Pikachu animation during the Bonus Slot game.
