I'm watching a few seasons of Lost and i'm strating to see that it is turning out really wierd. i still like it but...
i also watched a few episodes of Pushing Daisies but never got into it, and there's only like 12 episodes.
and i guess we can suppose that POkemon is a bit out there too...
comment with regards to title!
Edit:
ridiculous = border lining sanity of producers (not necessarily a bad thing)

I think that this can not be easily beaten in those terms. Do you agree?

The Powerpuff Girls seemed like the animators were on acid. I mean some episodes were downright weird with the imagery (i.e. several HIM episodes and See Me, Feel Me Gnomey). Jem had some scenes that were pretty intense even to today's standards like a veteran of Vietnam being hit hard in the back of the head during a flashback and drug induced hallucinations. Still a great show. And then there's The Amazing World of Gumball, Regular Show and Adventure Time.
-
^ Tbf Regular Show and especially Adventure Time are popular with the stoner crowd
Plus if you want acid and cartoons then surely it's the original Alice in Wonderland? If I ever took acid I know that's what I'd want to watch. Powerpuff Girls doesn't scream acid at all

JAPANESE TELEVISION
whether it's sushi eating competitions eating 30 pieces in as many seconds, or those wacky game shows which have since been westernised... i thought it was mainly done for purely western exposure but when i was there that kinda stuff was always on. so weird... so zany!!

Uncle Grandpa.

Uncle Grandpa.
I HATE that show. And for good reason too. Parents complained about Derpy and her voice on MLP: Friendship Is Magic on claims she was "offensive and makes fun of the mentally handicapped" but I think Uncle Grandpa is MUCH more offensive on so many levels. I mean he's this creepy pedophile looking grown man who dresses up like some little boy (which only Herbert from Family Guy can do successfully for it to be funny) and he takes kids aways from parents and other adults for what may be long periods of time and he actually tickles kids which is pretty much what pedos do to their victims under the guise of innocent fun.
-
If you want horrible, watch pretty much any cartoon of kids show these days. They were batter back when I was like 9, back when adventure time was actually good.

The Amazing World of Gumball isn't bad at all. It is actually quite witty for a kids show I'd say. I don't think a kids show has been this witty since maybe the last couple of seasons of the Power Puff Girls or the first two seasons of Relar Show. Total Drama comes close but that series doesn't have a lot of cleverness put into it constantly.
-
lol you don't like something we get it. it's meant to appeal to kids going through that 'random phase', everybody did. it's not offensive at all, you're being far too sensitive towards a children's TV show.
-
Although he's got a point, it doesn't match up to the best cartoons ever of the late 90s/early 00s
never forget spongebob and ed edd n eddy
-
But you DO have to admit that Uncle Grandpa looks and acts exactly like the creepy guy with a van who lures children away from their parents and gets a jolly from tickling them. It is disturbing thinking a redneck who acts like a pedophile and sounds heavily mentally challenged has been on for like two years but Derpy from Friendship talks just ONE time and parents complain that the creators of the show were actually planning on erasing all existence of the pony. That was my point. And Lord Raven is right when I meant the older shows of the 80s, 90, and show in the early 2000s were much better written and had more interesting plots. MLP: Friendship can also be very witty but not so much as Gumball is. I mean that show breaks the fourth wall so often that when they do, it usually ties into the plot of an entire episode.
-
creepy pedophile [...] (which only Herbert from Family Guy can do successfully for it to be funny)
so what you're saying is pedophilia is funny if done Right i.e. by seth mcfarlane (of all goddamn people to choose from)
-
he's also saying family guy is funny which is a worse crime
-
I personally like the cartoons recently. They're completely dumb and make no sense but at the same time are brilliant and make perfect sense. Except Steven Universe. I inexplicably hste that show.
-
a lot of these shows that people praise for being so great in the 90s and early 2000s were the same shows that my parents told me would make me stupid because the humor is just... dumb. not saying they're bad, but everyone who rips on cartoons that are aired today compare it to the cartoons they watched when they were young... because cartoons are made for young people. you are no longer the target audience. it is not really meant to appeal to you.
although i'd say some shows like regular show and adventure time also try to target teenagers, which is great and i do enjoy those shows, but my younger cousins love Gumball even though I think it's one of the worst cartoons being aired at the moment. one day though they'll be 18 and whining about what is on the air today while saying, "now, gumball was REAL television!"
also for anyone that's gonna pull out some actually awful cartoon that's in production right now, don't forget about this incredible 2001 program (http://youtu.be/UI1z9I9WN_A)
-
anybody ever seen the Marvolous Misadventures of Flapjack? That cartoon I followed for a few episodes but I thought they were actually going somewhere. The plot died quickly.
-
Blech. I've always disliked flapjack. It's just... eew.
-
There's also Clarence.
-
There's something called Secret Mountain Fort Awesome that came on when I still watched Cartoon Network. I don't like toilet humor, but aside from that the show was just lobotomizing. 2/10 What a crazy show that was
I watch more anime now but from time to time I watch a couple of CN shows
