Best skill you've ever developed?
« on: August 05, 2014, 21:05 »
This is really just an excuse for me to say how much I love the fact I can drive. Considering how terrified I was of the idea all the way through my lessons, I'd sooner lose my left hand than lose the ability to drive forever. It has given me so much freedom.

Share something positive, guys. What's the best skill you have? Or best number of skills? Make it silly if you want but nothing negative or I'll cry :>

Most likely the skill of writing stories. Just pulling out countless stories that are bound only by individual imagination is a pretty nice trick, I suppose. Everyone can tell a story, but it's just that not everyone tries to pull a novel out of their mind, and being able to tell a story in your own words is something interesting.

Me? One of my skills is making peers mad at me when I getting good grades. English and History are where I really seem to struggle a bit. Oh, and essay writing, for which I can thank my 7th grade english teacher. I can write a good essay thanks to her.

I'm a good mimic. I can do some accents and some specific characters. My best is definitely Welsh but I can p.much do the whole of the Gavin and Stacey cast (inc. minor characters too.) this is among others ofc, Welsh and Essex aren't the only ones I can do!!

I wouldn't call writing a skill (mainly bc I can't actually gauge how good I am at it myself) it's more of a passion but it's one that becomes easier and better the more you do it.

I think that's probs it tbf. I don't have skills... At least not useful ones.

On a serious note I can play the trumpet and draw to a reasonable standard lmao.

I'm always acquiring new skills. Never know when it'd come in handy:

I'm a musician by trade (guitar/bass/vocals), I'm a qualified music teacher, I've worked in live sound, studio engineering, photography, worked in the motor industry, I'm qualified to drive commercial vehicles (transits and similar), I was an 80m hurdler for school, I do carpentry, built computers, built servers, can fly gliders (why not?) and a little bit of first aid.

I don't know how to work the iron, though...

Driving is probably up there though. My Vauxhall Astra is worth it just for the heated seats.

I occasionally write stories. Find them HERE

I also race cars from time to time on my YouTube Channel
