Fire: Charmander. Charmander was my starter back in Fire Red and I've always figured that it's my favourite fire type when it comes down to picking.

Water: Totodile. I picked it back in Silver and it was my favourite thing ever. It looks cool too, which doesn't hurt.

Grass: Bulbasaur. I have never even had a Bulbasaur despite it being my favourite grass starter. Actually, I think I've got a Japanese on from Wonder Trade so I might start training one!

Fire: Infernape. It's got some diversity and can run both physical and special movesets.

Water: Samurott. Out of all the other Water-type starters, Samurott is the only one with a decent move pool in-game. Even then.

Grass Serperior. I just love it. Though it doesn't have that good a movepool in-game, it's pretty bulky and generally good as a setup sweeper.

This has changed to me loving Feraligatr more. I think the lack of it in my current SS run hurts. :|

Fire: Charizard. Or at least, Mega Charizard X. Why?
1. It's finally a dragon.
2. It looks freakin cool.
3. It's one of the only Dragons that can defeat Klefki.
4. Regular Charizard has a kickass shiny.

Water: Greninja. Once again, awesome shiny, awesome style, awesome stats.

Grass: Meganium. It was the starter I picked when I decided to play some Silver on a retro games website, and I love it's whole evolution line.

Mines changed a bit, it's now:

Fire - Typhlosion. Choice Specs eruption is fun, and also absurdly powerful. The designs grown on me loads too ^^

Water - Empoleon. I love penguins soooo, yeah xD

Grass - Stiiiiiiill Meganium. Meganium will never be knocked off this spot. Blaine the Meganium destroys all xD it even beat my bf's Charizard xD

As starters, I still prefer Colosseum's, but talking about those types...

For Snoop Dogg Grass, I choose Venusaur. It was very good during DPP, and BW brought it to fame, and XY just made it even more unpredictable. Poison type makes it even more annoying and unpredictable.

For Fire, I choose Infernape. It takes a lot of effort to use, but using it well may result in an easy victory, as well as a very honorable one. As well, Fight type.

For Volvic's Subproduct, I choose Swampert. It has either torrent to be a hard-hitting tank or damp to be an annoying tank, and it can be very decent in all tier where it is allowed. Maybe not Übers, I should try it there... Moreover, Ground type.

Infernape - While Blaziken may be the posterboy of the fire group, it's not always been the case. I was a massive fan of R/B/S and a huge fan of fire types... imagine my dissmay when finding out that my beloved Blaziken was slower than a boiled potato in a triathalon. While this was corrected in later generations, I can't forget the betrayal!! It doesn't hurt that Infernape has good speed, good attack & looks a little like Super Saiyan 4 Goku. My monkey wears a fur waistcoat now, fur waistcoats are cool!

Who cares - Grass isn't fire type.

Who cares - Water isn't fire type.

I would like to ammend my answer... I now HATE Blaziken! I'm 13/12 on Rating Battles & at least 4 of my losses are caused by Blazikens. :P

Grass - Bulbasaur

I just love Bulbasaur. It's awesome.
Except that - Venusaur is a BEAST

Fire - Cyndaquill

It is cute and Thyplosion is awesome!

Water - Squirtle/Totodile/Mudkip

Yes, there is 3 of them but i just like water types.
Squirtle is cool and Blastoise is freakin' AWESOMME + the anime made Squirtle even COOLER
Totodile is cute and Feraligatr is SO STRONG
Mudkip is the cutest cutie and is one of my favourites and Swampert is a Water/Fighting type which, makes him PERFECT

P.S.: I use the word AWESOME a lot - just like May

Grass - Venusaur
Had a lot of fun with this monster on my Y game. I named him Asphodel and he accompanied me from Lumiose to the Elite Four. I didn't like the Bulbasaur line that much before I actually used it, but I've definitely grown to appreciate it more now.

Fire - Blaziken
My first ever Pokemon, and still one of my favourites. I love Torchic's design, hate Combusken's and adore Blaziken's. I don't like his Mega Evo that much though.

Water - Greninja
I actually love this Pokemon so much. I love it's typing, it's design, it's name, it's stats... I think it's a fantastic Pokemon and it really lives up to the bar that the other Water starters set. I like pretty much all the Water starters, but Greninja stands out for me.

Fire: Blaziken
Really, the only fire starter I really like.
Water: Greninja
It's a freakin' ninja.
Grass: Torterra
Torterra was my first starter ever. I actually even still have that particular Torterra...

For Fire- Delphox due to its uniqueness and because its a psychic/fire. I also like how it keeps a wand under its arm-sleeves. Its mega might get Magic Guard or Magic Bounce.

For Water, Samurott due to its brillant design. It can fight both on four feet and two feet and the two swords are just powerful. If it gets a mega, it should be water/fighting and have Hyper Cutter.

Finally, for Grass types, Torterra. Its defense is amazing and it too has unique typing. If it gets a mega, I hope it keeps grass/ground and gains the ability Sand Veil or Sand Force.

for Runner ups
3. Infernape
2. Blaziken
1. Charizard (only its mega X.)

Water
3. Blastoise
2. Swampert
1. Greninja

Grass
3. Venusaur
2. Sceptile
1. Serperior

Hmm, I don't like a single one of the 2nd stage evolutions but I love pretty much all of the basics so I'll do those.

Fire - Charmander
Water - Froakie
Grass - Turtwig
