Title: Pokemon Sun Team
Post by: MegaNerd14 on December 25, 2016, 12:42
I'm playing the copy of Sun I just got and HeartGold at the same time.  The HeartGold Team thing gets moved to here too.  I also couldn't find good sprites for the 7th-Gen mons, so yeah.

PS: The event Happy Hour Snorlax is not going to be here.  I am going to get it just so I can have a Smeargle with it, but I won't use it.

Incineroar

Flare Blitz
Darkest Lariat
Cross Chop
Thrash

Item: Charcoal
Ability: Blaze

#TeamLitten

Jolteon
(https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/anim/normal/jolteon.gif)

Thunderbolt
Thunder Wave
Shadow Ball
Protect

Item: Amulet Coin
Ability: Volt Absorb

Didn't want to use Magneton again (not creative enough).  Shadow Ball is Sadly the only special coverage move it gets without breeding.

Palossand

Earth Power
Shadow Ball
Iron Defense
Energy Ball

Item: Leftovers
Ability: Water Compaction

Yay a ghost sand castle Pokemon! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Kommo-o

Dragon Claw
Sky Uppercut
Bulk Up
X-Scissor

Item: Dragonium Z
Ability: Soundproof

This game's psuedo-legendary.

Crobat
(https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/anim/normal/crobat.gif)

Cross Poison
Leech Life
Confuse Ray
Fly

Item: Poison Barb
Ability: Inner Focus

Still the only really cool flying type.  Oddly, Fly is still the best flyng move avaliable without breeding.

Lapras
(https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/anim/normal/lapras.gif)

Ice Beam
Surf
Psychic
Rest

Item: Quick Claw
Ability: Shell Armor

Wanted a Cloyster.  Rock Blast is an egg move :'(  Also, HOW DOES IT GET THUNDERBOLT!?!  HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE!?!

PPS:  Please don't spam the comments with "How dare you not pick Mimikyu!".

When you get to the daycare you should talk to the lady inside who will tell you your Pokémon's Hidden Power (and also give you the TM). If it's a type that's at all useful, you should use it.

Your movesets are fine for in-game use, I wouldn't use moves like Confuse Ray but it's your preference so that's fine.

True, but without breeding, HP's Base Power will be garbage.

It was changed to be a set 60 BP in Gen VI - pretty sure it didn't get changed back this gen.

Really?  Huh.
the HeartGold Team thing gets moved to here too.

Did I mention that I'm playing both Sun and HeartGold at the same time?

OH CRUD I FORGOT THE Z-MOVE!!! I'LL FIX IT!!  (Update: It's all better now! :D)

Update: Replaced Steel Wing on Crobat with Leech Life

Moar Updateyness and things: Replaced Giga Drain on Palossand with Energy Ball

The real answer to Whitney's Miltank?  Use a Heracross.

I'm Currently resetting for a Solgaleo, but there are EVs on it when you catch it.  Can somebody tell me what EVs Solgaleo has when you catch it on the Altar of the Sunne?

It shouldn't have any EVs on it when you catch it. Are you sure you don't mean something else?

When I was on showdown calculating it's IVs, I found EVs on Nebby, which screws with my calculations.  I need to know what EVs it has on it so I can calculate around them

Go to your Pokémon's in-game summary screen, press the Y button and on the top screen there should be a hexagon with a yellow blob in the middle. If there are no dark yellow bits around the blob, it has no EVs. If for some reason it does have EVs, you can remove them with Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa or Tamato berries.

There is no real reason to check IVs though, just see what 31s it has in-game, then get it to level 100 and hyper train it to set its remaining IVs to 31. There is an NPC in the daycare building to check hidden powers if that's what you're after.

Hyper Training only affects stats, not the actual IVs.  Hyper Training does not breed down or affect hidden power at all.

I'm planning on doing competitive when I finish the game, thus, I must reset for right IVs Right Nature Solgaleo for a Calm Mind set

EDIT:  I have been proven wrong about finding EVs on the Solgaleo

I know that, but it removes the need to get perfect IVs on your legendaries, and allows you to use for example 31/31/31/31/31/31 IVs while using any Hidden Power. Hidden Power Fighting is not possible on legendaries/UBs caught in gen 6 or 7 due to them having 3 guaranteed IVs of 31 though.

Ok, here is a summary of what you need to do.

Have an Abra (or its evolution) with Synchronize and the right nature in the first slot of your party (can't be fainted in this generation). This will give a 50% chance of the Pokémon you are catching having the right nature.

Catch the Pokémon. When you have caught it there is an option in the menu to look at its summary, assuming you have a full party and are using default game options. If the nature is wrong, reset, otherwise fly to the Hidden Power checker if you need a Hidden Power, if that is wrong, also reset.

Sadly, I'm not allowed to leave the area to get an Abra, this is the Nebby fight.

Find a way to leave the area, there is usually a way. Or you could trade someone for one.

Would allowing Nebby KO all of your Pokemon work? That'd presumably send you back to a Pokemon centre, as in BW vs your legend, or maybe it just resets idk, I'd assume the former, though.

I tried that and it worked! time to go catch a Modest Abra!
