Every day, Pokemon RSE generates 2 bytes, if the 2 bytes match the first 2 bytes of a pokemon in your party's personality value, Mirage island will appear as long as that pokemon stays n your party. I have tried this with over 100 different pokemon in my party and the old man in Pacifidlog still doesn't see Mirage Island. If i am dong something wrong pls send help.

General Pokémon Discussion / The Pokemon Timeline
« on: November 14, 2017, 19:16 »
Building a timeline for the Pokémon universe is really hard, like, ridiculously hard, but with some thinking I think I've managed to do it.
(I'm excluding Pokémon Ultra Sun/Moon because of a couple reasons I won't get into right now)

Year ?????      -Arceus and the Unown come into existence and create everything.

Year ?????2    -Giratina is banished to the Distortion World because he doesn't know how to use his powers properly.

Let's skip ahead several thousand years and get to the good stuff.

1980                -Modern Pokéballs are invented.    -The first Porygon is created.

1987                -Team Rocket is founded by then Gym Leader of Viridian City, Giovanni.

1989                -Dr. Fuji, working with Team Rocket, discover that Mews are indeed real and capture one. Several failed experiments later, Mewtwo is born, and wreaks havoc upon Team Rocket's Cinnabar lab.  Dr. Fuji, overcome with guilt that he created a monster, takes Mew to an island so far away from everything, it's called "Faraway Island" and buries the map he used to get there in the Hoenn Region.

February 27th. 1996       -11 year old Red and Blue receive their first Pokémon. Meanwhile, Teams Magma and Aqua split, pursuing their own goals.

October 15th, 1996         -Red takes down Team Rocket. Giovanni then abandons his son, Silver so he could focus on how to bring it back.

November 21st, 1996     -Gym Leader Norman (Then of Olivine City) gets transferred to Petalburg Town in Hoenn. Top student Jasmine takes  over the Olivine Gym.  The events of Emerald take place over a year.

November 21st, 1999     -The events of Crystal take place over a year and a half, Platinum takes place shortly after the Lake of Rage incident.

September 18th, 2004    -The events of White take place over 9 months. (Assumes White is canon)

June 23rd, 2006              -The events of White 2 & X/Y take place over 11 months.

November 18th, 2008     -The events of Sun/Moon take place over 13 months.

That's it, my version of the Pokémon timeline. Leave anything I forgot in a reply.
The only qualifications a game has to be to get on this timeline are it has to be able to connect and trade with the main series games (or cause something to happen within the game)  Excludes Pokémon Box and Stadium titles.

Team Building / Ultra Moon Team Building (WIP)
« on: October 24, 2017, 18:58 »
So I'm already planning a team for Ultra Moon when I get one, though as the pokedex, differences in trials, E4, region, and hopefully post-game content aren't fully revealed yet, thi is going to be a WIP for a couple months. So far I'm planning to switch my starter from Litten to Popplio. any other suggestions to switch things up from my old team in Sun to this new game?

Also screw Rowlet fite me haters.

Pokemon Sun and Moon was a great pair of games! (Except for the lack of post-game, that part sucked) And Ultra Sun/Moon looks AMAZING!  Here's some last minute possibly unrealistic hopes for the pair!

Expanded regional pokedex, I'm like talking at least 430 pokemon.

BATTLE FRONTIER! Seriously, who actually bothered with the battle tree?

MORE STUFF TO DO!

MORE Customization!

MORE STUFF TO DO!

More Z-Moves!

More Megas! Gamefreakpleasebringbackmegaevolutionnobodycaredaboutzmoves

MORE STUFF TO DO!

Expansion on characters and trials!

MORE STUFF TO DO!!!!

Reply with your own hopes for Ultra Sun/Moon!

General Pokémon Discussion / Main Series Pokemon Game Poll
« on: June 30, 2017, 16:17 »
This is a redo of the expired poll on Games General.  It is much more likely to get views here and I had too many options on the last poll.  I just want something to play until Gold and Silver come to 3DS virtual console in September and I play that.

Read the title.  I have also edited my profile.

Team Building / Replaying Omega Ruby
« on: May 14, 2017, 03:28 »
I recently completed the Pokedex in Sun, and there's really nothing to do anymore except shiny hunting and the battle tree.  And I'd take any excuse to replay any iteration of the Hoenn games. They're freaking masterpieces.

The Fundamental Problems With Building a Mono-Dragon Team

Let's say you want to build a Mono-Type team, pulled a type out of a hat, and got Dragon.  Well, here are the many problems, first the exponentially slow growth of Dragons.  This one is self-explanatory.  Dragons are very weak when they start out, found very late, and are a pain to grind due to their aforementioned exponentially slow growth rate.

The Second Problem is the Dragons and Type itself.  First is the ones available to you, only non-mega, non-legendary 17 dragon types are available to you in the Sun and Moon National Dex, if you allow transfer, that is, and 4 of them don't even start off as dragons.  Most are Dragon Flying, with 1 Grass, 2 Ground, 1 Rock, 1 Poison, 1 Dark, 1 Water, 1 Fire and 1 Normal for type variety.

The Type is only resisted by Steel and Immune by Fairy, so you pick up a Kommo-o to deal with the Steel resist, but you also shoot yourself in the foot by adding a 4x weakness to Fairy, and other weaknesses to Flying and Psychic, which most commonly outspeed it.  Say hello to the Ghost Fairy type Mimikyu, which not only speed-ties Kommo-o, but is immune to both its STAB and has a guaranteed survival on the first hit.  On a team full of Dragons, Kommo-o is easily destroyed by a good fairy hit, as well as all other dragons, except for 2, Turtonator, and Dragalge.  Turtonator and Dragalge both are weak to Ground, and Earthquake is incredibly deadly, with its 100 Base Power and 100 Accuracy, destroying them both as well with an easy outspeed from a Dugtrio.  The only one left that isn't destroyed by a 4x super effective Ice or Fairy hit would be Kingdra, a Water Dragon type.  Kingdra, with an incredible typing of Water-Dragon, is only 2x weak to Dragon and Fairy, making it one of the best ones with weaknesses.  However, 2 things get in the way of that.  1 is that it only evolves through trade while holding a Dragon Scale, and 2, Mimikyu can easily outspeed and destroy it as well, if you manage to get one anyway.

Dragons, while sometimes a nice addition to your team with the resistances to the starting type trio and electric, simply aren't worth your time, as there are stronger Pokemon out there, with more coverage, resistances that compliment your team better, etc.  They do have some amazing stats, true, but non-legendary dragons simply aren't worth the time and effort to find, catch and grind their incredibly weak early stages at the very end of the game, they're only super effective against themselves, are destroyed by Ice and Fairy, etc, etc, etc.  I rest my case.

Team Building / Pokemon Sun Team
« on: December 25, 2016, 12:42 »
I'm playing the copy of Sun I just got and HeartGold at the same time.  The HeartGold Team thing gets moved to here too.  I also couldn't find good sprites for the 7th-Gen mons, so yeah.

PS: The event Happy Hour Snorlax is not going to be here.  I am going to get it just so I can have a Smeargle with it, but I won't use it.

Incineroar

Flare Blitz
Darkest Lariat
Cross Chop
Thrash

Item: Charcoal
Ability: Blaze

#TeamLitten

Jolteon

Thunderbolt
Thunder Wave
Shadow Ball
Protect

Item: Amulet Coin

Didn't want to use Magneton again (not creative enough).  Shadow Ball is Sadly the only special coverage move it gets without breeding.

Palossand

Earth Power
Shadow Ball
Iron Defense
Energy Ball

Item: Leftovers
Ability: Water Compaction

Yay a ghost sand castle Pokemon! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Kommo-o

Dragon Claw
Sky Uppercut
Bulk Up
X-Scissor

Item: Dragonium Z
Ability: Soundproof

This game's psuedo-legendary.

Crobat

Cross Poison
Leech Life
Confuse Ray
Fly

Item: Poison Barb
Ability: Inner Focus

Still the only really cool flying type.  Oddly, Fly is still the best flyng move avaliable without breeding.

Lapras

Ice Beam
Surf
Psychic
Rest

Item: Quick Claw
Ability: Shell Armor

Wanted a Cloyster.  Rock Blast is an egg move :'(  Also, HOW DOES IT GET THUNDERBOLT!?!  HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE!?!
