Is it just me, or has everyone's avatar been stretched? It looks ugly and weird, but I hope it's not just me experiencing this problem.
-
i've noticed it, yes. it's definitely visible to me on pixel avatars like yours and reluctant wailord's. on mine though i haven't seen a difference. maybe because mine is anti-aliased?
-
NO! Oh god mine too... What did they do to you, Silvia? Has the staff been confronted?
-
I recall it happening once before, probably an easy fix, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just something that was happening exclusively to me.
-
how do you think we fix it?
-
It's something that will have to be fixed by Joeno more than likely, because it's a site problem. I meant it's probably an easy fix for him once he gets to it. It's no big deal, it probably won't be long.
-
I hope so...
-
I don't know what happened - nothing has changed recently that I'm aware of.
Due to a move, I won't have proper Internet access for another 10-14 days, so for now you will have to live with it or hope it fixes itself.

it seems that avatars with dimensions smaller than 100x100 pixels have been stretched to be that size.
so if you use a sprite in your avatar and it's stretched, i'd suggest editing the image so that overall it's 100x100 pixels. that is, make the transparent background larger. then the image won't need to be stretched and the sprite won't be distorted.

Mobile Internet atrempted fix, does this help?
-
Ah, things seem to have been fixed! Thanks Joeno :)
-
I'm seeing them stretch until the page completely finished loading, at which point they snap back to normal size. That's fine in my eyes.
I guess it might be something to do with any resizing tags that might be used by SMF to manipulate avatar sizes to fit the limits?
-
It's switched to using JavaScript instead of HTML to do the resizing, which is all I can do or say at the moment - hence resizing only after the page finished loading. I can't do more until I get Internet access back at home.
-
I thought I was the only one having this problem, anyways, thanks Joeno!

That's fine - it works and shouldn't really bother anyone. Nice job!
