Your Art / Anyone up for an art trade?
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:00 »
I find art trades really fun and I'd like something to draw so c'mon guys.

My devART is normally in lockdown these days but I've opened it again with some examples.

I don't mind what I draw but I really enjoy battle scenes and OCs.

Here's what I want you to draw for me:
Either my OC, Kaiit - Character ref sheet. Idea of colours.
Or a Cubone learning to fly/ eating it's mother.

*waits patiently*

Random Randomness / Feed the birds, tuppence a bag.
« on: September 13, 2014, 09:30 »
Does anyone else feed the garden birds? It's something I do on auto and don't really give it much thought but I know (from retail statistics we get given in the shop) that well over 50% of adults say they put food out for the birds.

I get all the common things; blackbirds, wood pigeons, collard doves, robins, blue tits, great tits, coal tits, chaffinches, green finches, goldfinches, starlings, magpies, house sparrows. Then occasionally I'll see greater spotted woodpecker, gold crests, tree creepers and nuthatches. I've also had a sparrowhawk and tawny owl.

Random Randomness / Uniform
« on: September 09, 2014, 20:35 »
So a few people mentioned school uniforms in the how ya doin topic and I figured that probably warranted a topic of it's own, yeh?

From the posts in the other topic it looks like sixth form dress code is a lot stricter now than in my day. Sixth form meant wearing whatever you wanted as long as it wasn't somehow dangerous (like, iuno, pointy accessories?)... although, saying that, my high school uniform was pretty lax generally (the only real uniform part was the school polo shirt, so as long as we wore black trousers and shoes anything else went, really.)

I definitely don't miss those days of school uniform...

Sooo... What kind of dress code/ uniform does your school/ college/ university/ workplace have and what do you think of it?

Random Randomness / Baking!
« on: September 03, 2014, 17:42 »
This is just about baking guys so if you want to talk about other food go make your own topic :[

Just because I've been inspired by Great British Bake Off...

So what's your favourite thing to bake/ the best thing you can bake? Cakes, pastries, breads, pies, etc.? I know there's a lot of us here who like to cook.

My favourite thing will always be my nana's fruit cake, full of big cherries and lots of desiccated coconut! It's quite an important one for me, too, because nana now lives with the worms and bacteria so she can't make it any more.

Random Randomness / Best skill you've ever developed?
« on: August 05, 2014, 21:05 »
This is really just an excuse for me to say how much I love the fact I can drive. Considering how terrified I was of the idea all the way through my lessons, I'd sooner lose my left hand than lose the ability to drive forever. It has given me so much freedom.

Share something positive, guys. What's the best skill you have? Or best number of skills? Make it silly if you want but nothing negative or I'll cry :>

Genuine questions you have been asked/ have asked yourself/ have heard other people ask/ just plain stupid things people have said.

101) Does this lift go up AND down?

100) *In front of fish tanks* Q:"Do you have any glass-sucking fish? Where are they?" A:"In the fishtank."

Random Randomness / The Truth About Personality
« on: July 13, 2013, 10:16 »
So I watched this BBC Horizon in bed last night and found it very enlightening. I meditate already of my own accord to overcome my high levels of anxiety. I think I naturally probably fall into the "pessamistic" catagory, even though I try to be optimistic (no point living life sad and afraid).

What view does everyone else take on "the world"? How do you overcome stress? etc.

End note: I've put the topic here because it's not /about/ the programme but... watch it. It's very good :>
