I have to miss a practical today in order to get an appointment with my GP because side pains is one of the symptoms of the big C being in your kidney and recently another member of my family was diagnosed so I don't want to take any risks.

I honestly doubt that it's the big C and that it's something minor since the intensity of the pain has lowered by quite a bit and it's no longer constant but it seems to be more of an occasional sharp pain.

Hopefully I can join another group to sit the practical.

It appears that I was given this 9am slot out of spite for not applying for a group because the email was strikingly similar to the various spam emails that we are sent. I don't mind waking up at 6 but now that I've had to make a choice between my health and my education I'm quite annoyed tbh. Especially when major feedback, linked to my name, states that it's difficult to attend or get home from lectures at specific times due to trouble with transport and the fact that I do not live in the city.

ALSO! We were sent an email to alert us to our personal tutor meetings on the 16th when mine was on the 15th!? Surely common sense says "the earliest meeting here is on the 15th, maybe you should send this on the 12th".

So along with disruptive spam and incompetent organisers, the email system is okay-ish. Just kidding. I can't opt out of this either. They're going to spam me with stupidly timed mosque open day invites and obscure seminars on things like "feminist theories on snoods" until I finish university and then they'll probably move onto my personal email.

My great grampa isn't doing great, he had a mini stroke at the weekend but has just gone downhill quickly since. I'm so worried :( it's awful to say but at least when my great granny went it was much more sudden and unexpected. Doesn't help the fact I'm hundreds of miles away from home in case something happens.

just got the bad news on the phone. I'm coping okay but I know once I get home it'll be bad

No work for eight days! Hooray!! Not that I'll enjoy it because I'll be too busy worrying about what kind of disaster I'll be going back to. Boooo!

And I could use some one euro boxed wine right about now.

^I've been there.

I have more rat babies on the way. I already have 14 rat babies. Where am I going to house them all?

speaking from endless rodent breeding, it's time to take mum away from the ratmen. maybe look into getting some cheap cages and splitting the young boys and girls off when they're ready?

if rats are anything like gerbils, girls can store sperm and have babies away from males it's slightly... annoying when you come down to discover 23424 more rodent children

I've split them up when Floki had the pups, but gestation is 23 days... we just didn't get it in time. Bjorn is awaiting his sons eagerly... We have 3 cages as it stands so we should be okay until we get Bjorn done.

It's cool though, we used to breed rats when I was younger, so I'm not 100% new to this :)

My nan had three strokes. It's horrible watching someone get robbed of their humanity like that.

Wanted to go to university today. I slept in and when time mattered my mother woke everyone up so I was locked out of the bathroom so I couldn't brush my teeth or anything and by the time I could, it would have been likely that I would miss the bus here or in the city so I thought "screw it" tbh.

Really hate missing uni. It's costing me and it feels like a waste when I haven't gone to a lecture this week.
