How's the window looking for you guys?
For me, Fulham have made a couple of interesting signings in Adam Taggart from Newcastle jets and Tim Hoogland from Schalke. Good young attacking talent and experience at the back, what I like to see considering how many bloody players we've released for our season in champo next year.
Where will Suarez go after becoming a cannibal for the third time?
Chelsea have bought everyone, how will they do??
etc, etc..
-
Already signed Ayoze and Colback, still need a creative playmaker and two more forwards. Think we're missing out on Lasogga since he's going back to Hamburg. Gomis is joining Swansea. Debuchy misses the Champions League so he'll probs leave. Oh and Cabella's too good for us.
Gonna be a long summer =[
-
Looking forward to seeing how Diouf will do for us next season, not sure about Bardsley but he might be okay. Sidwell should be alright too.
Begovic being linked with clubs left, right and centre, rumours going around saying Real Madrid are prepping £15m for him. I'm hopeful that he'll stick around with us.
We've apparently had talks with a Barcelona player (Traore) for a season-long loan, but that's unlikely now it seems. Assaidi seems unlikely now as well. We've also been linked with Livorno's Paulinho.
Looks like we're getting our business done early in the transfer window for once!
-
We've just signed Siem De Jong from Ajax for €7m
hmm
-
We (Walsall) have picked up our usual free transfers.
Luke Shaw's gone to Man United. Hope he goes out on loan or he'll stunt his potential.

Shaw should rotate starting duties with Evra this season and then become first choice next season
EDIT: Sources in Spain are saying Suarez to Barcelona for £63m is done
-
Walsall have signed a striker. Thought I saw a pig fly yesterday afternoon.
Arsenal are primed to swoop on Alexis Sanchez. Big signing.
-
As in actually signed or another free signing? =P
Debuchy to Arsenal for £10m (rising to 12m) is pretty much done now, seen rumours of Daryl Janmaat being our preferred replacement (I think I'd want Aurier instead though)
-
As in actually signed, he's going for nearly £30m or something iirc.
Woops. Walsall getting £30m out for a striker would be nuts xD
-

Meant the Walsall signing =P
-
I meant a striker. In fact, we've signed two!
£30m got me Hugo Lloris and Leighton Baines on FIFA in my fourth season.
-
"Toni Kroos has decided, he will be new Real Madrid player. We're going to lose a champion" - Beckenbauer
what a stupid decision from Bayern
also yay we're signing Cabella

made me chuckle
-
Cabella is now a Newcastle player
I'm so happy
EDIT: Daryl Janmaat has just completed a move to us too, Pardew's making those FM-esque moves
-
Stoke are in talks with Barca over a season long loan for Bojan. Hughes is getting plenty of strikers it seems.

crazy to think he was rated higher than Pedro back in the day
Liverpool have signed Can and Markovic and look set to bring in Origi (who'll go back to Lille) on loan for the season, some impressive signings tbh. Still, it won't replicate Suarez =[
-
Conte has left juventus over proposed deals for Vidal and pehaps Pogba, interesting.

Actually he left because of the club's failure to sign Iturbe who's joining Roma instead, he was his third choice pick too behind Sanchez and Cuadrado.
He'll probably just become Italy gaffer instead.
-
We've apparently been in talks / agreed a fee with Liverpool for Assaidi in the range of £4.5m, rising up to £7m.
Yusssss.
-
Remy's apparently got a deal agreed with Liverpool.
-
Borini for £14m LOL
-
Imagine he scores 30+ goals next season and gets sold on for 40+mil
ahahahahahahha key word imagine ahahahahaha
-
so apparently Borini has turned down Sunderland
wow just wow
-
Balotelli back in the prem in an Arsenal shirt next season??
-
Balotelli back in the prem in an Arsenal shirt next season??
heard this for ages (mainly because Arsenal are now with Puma and Balotelli's with Puma) but it seems they might look elsewhere. I know Giroud gets a lot of stick but he's solid enough for them really. We'll see I guess.
James Rodriguez to Real Madrid, their team is gonna be so unreal. Big duty for Alonso and eventually Illara to play the holding role for them though haha
-
Shame about Isco and Di Maria, though. Real Madrid have a good problem... too many top class attacking players.
-

true, Di Maria to PSG though, Isco perhaps on loan with the option to buy somewhere else.
Rodriguez has apparently landed in Madrid airport.
-
Isco has been linked to liverpool, like every other god damned player on earth
-
Morata (who joined Juve from Real for €20m a few days ago) has had a serious knee injury in training apparently. Talk about unlucky.
-
I hope Balotelli does come back, he's so much fun to have in the league.

Real once again making a mockery of the FFP rules. Must be great having a bank on your side to keep wiping out your debts.

FFP hurts the smaller teams so much more. It'll make it even harder for someone to challenge Real Madrid and Barcelona in Spain (think due to the signings that have happened Atletico will drop off this year =/)
Still, he'll be revealed at 7pm BST, signed for €80m.
-
4th most expensive player, woah
-

I'm a supporter of one of these smaller teams and it's true. It's almost as if the Premier League is trying to make the gap between the top 20 and the rest of the clubs even greater.
OH WAIT!

to be fair it's European competitions too (which is why PSG are in trouble for it) but yeah, it's also why I completely get why we just buy abroad all the time too, I'd rather pay £10-12m than Zaha for £14m. Even the mid-table teams will find it hard to compete unless they've got a great academy (a-la Southampton) or whatnot. Teams like Crewe will be fine to an extent too.
-
We should be fine as well given our academy has produced some decent players in the past (Matty Fryatt, Troy Deeney, Anthony Gerrard, Jamie Paterson etc) and we have mostly local players in the team as its easier on the players and their families.
In fact, most of the current squad (including the gaffer) all went to the same school (Dartmouth High School, where Cat Deeley went... And my mum)
Edit: Eto'o and Messi in some playground-esque action.

Wow, Southampton are on the way to being like Blackpool, except they're getting lotta money from losing players.
And we got Bojan on a permanent too, woot.
-
Apparently the owner's looking to sell the club too =[
-
I heard they're gonna play a 2-2-1 in their next match >.<
-
If they hang on to Schneiderlin and Rodriguez they should be just about okay. Southampton's odds of being relegated are now the same as West Ham apparently O.o
-
With the money they've made from selling all those players, they can buy in some replacements easily.
If I was the Southampton owner I'd be wetting myself with laughter. No way is Shaw worth £30m. Hope he doesn't get wasted like Zaha has.
-
Lukaku is off to Everton for £28m. Good signing for them methinks.

in this market whilst it's definitely a risk it may work out being a great signing for them. He's coming off a very impressive season whilst being such a young age and good full backs are really hard to come by. It's definitely a wait and see with it.

it's okay, £28m is a lot though. Very surprised Everton forked out that much tbh.
not necessarily transfer news but interesting nonetheless (I'll make a 14/15 thread in a few weeks)

best kit ever right? =P
-
Wow, Lukaku's actually gone? I was really impressed with him last season, especially given that I'd say he outperformed all of chelsea's strikers. Thought he'd be in the team this year. Huh.
-

Lukaku's not a Mourinho player, apparently his training ethic is poor and he wanted to move away from Chelsea. Plus he didn't particularly end the season that well; he impressed me more the season before than last tbh. That being said, he could still be a huge player for Everton.
-
Interesting, not heard about him behind the scenes. I think he's definitely a good signing for them though.
-
Hangeland to Crystal Palace on a one year deal could be quite an astute signing for them tbh, I mean Danny Gabbidon refound form for them so if Hangeland can he'll be great.
-
Rumours flying about that we're possibly trying to get Ronaldinho.
Seriously? We probably couldn't afford his wages either.
-
I dunno, Everton paid £28m on a player this window; it's impossible to predict.
Looks like we're bringing in Ferreyra from Shaktar, could be a great signing
-
Yeah. It's not like we need him anyways. If we did get him, he'd most likely be like Michael Owen was for us -- not getting much game time. Hughes did that with both Guidetti and Owen, couldn't see Ronaldinho getting too much further than them, knowing Hughes.
-
Lampard's off to Man City on loan until mid January (pending fitness problems), good move for everyone involved really.
-
^ Middle aged women all over the country have just become City fans.

Liverpool want Balotelli, apparently.
-
Liverpool are linked with loads of players as far as I've seen.
Bojan is proving to be a neat signing, bagged two goals in pre-season thus far. Just needs to bag them when the season gets underway, should be great to see how he does.
-
Bojan to stoke is still the most hilarious signing i have seen in years
-
I thought Owen was funnier still when he got very little game time
Hughes has been giving some of the academy players a shot in the matches, great to hear that.
Looks like Newcastle are pouncing on a couple of players now, interesting.
-
^ We've made like 9 signings this summer (although the two today have gone back on loan to Forest for the season) lol
-
I knew that, I was on about the two players who've gone back out on loan [D
-
Rodwell has moved from City to a club who will actually allow him to play football.

wouldn't be surprised if gets injured half the time though, it's the biggest reason why he hasn't developed really
-
That and he went to Man City where there are so many players that would be picked ahead of him. Why buy these players if you're not going to develop them? Zaha's lost out on development time as well.
-

Again, his development was halted moreso by injuries than flatout not being picked. When he was fit he was in the squad and had been given opportunities but then more signings came in to cover the position has he hadn't developed as planned. Whilst I don't like this approach City are able to do, in the Rodwell situation it's not their fault he hasn't developed.
Zaha's lost out on development time as well.
Moyes didn't like him and did send him out on loan. Really he should have spent a full season out on loan. He'll get more chances this year, although if Van Gaal uses 3-5-2 in the Prem it won't really suit him either
-
Breaking news from Old Trafford: LVG has chosen NOT to renew Howard Webb's contract for next season.
-

it's a shame he gets the Man Utd bias stick because he's definitely been the best referee from England I've witnessed in my time watching football.
-
He's also the only Englishman to participate in a World Cup Final since 1966.
-
Jokes aside, he's been great really.
Bojan is tearing it up again, 3 in 3 is pretty solid. 2-0 win over Real Betis is niiiice.
-
Yeah, he was good. Not Collina good, but good.
-

he's probably the best referee of the post Collina-era tbf

I reckon this guy is...
-
^I genuinely found it hard to tell if he was moving forwards or backwards.
Stoke have apparently bid £5m for Nathan Redmond, interesting...
-
Southampton are offering £12m for Shane Long
Liverpool after ANOTHER transfer target.
Connor Wickham might be moving
And Luis Van Gaal's first home game ends with an injury time winner. Business as usual then.
-
Southampton are offering £12m for Shane Long
£12m for Long is kinda outrageous really
Liverpool after ANOTHER transfer target.
they desperately needed new full backs so its understandable. The defence cost them the title last year.
Connor Wickham might be moving
bids have been rejected, Sunderland want him to sign a new deal but if he doesn't he may end up leaving.
If Man Utd sign Rojo... lol
-
Scholes has hit out at United. Claiming 'They've sold too much and their incoming players are the wrong choices'
-
Pulis has left Crystal Palace. That'll be a blow, considering how well he did last season.
David Moyes is apparently favourite to replace him lol
-
I think it makes it much worse considering he's left so soon ahead of the new season. Crazy stuff really. I presume Moyes will wait for a European side tbh.
-
United lose to Swansea.

Bump for Transfer Deadline Day
What are your teams doing? Who are they signing? What other signings are you impressed / disappointed by?
Falcao to Man Utd's the big one but anything else you want to talk about?
-
Assaidi back at Stoke, excellenttttttt.
-
Wish I didn't bump, was a terrible day =[
-
Man United getting Falcao is like giving someone who needs a heart transplant a nose job. It looks nice, but it's not quite what they need...
