Yep, it's another meet this year... but slightly different location. By popular request and popular London avoidance!
Where? YORK. Yes. York this time
When? Saturday 4th August
How can I be there? Sign up for it. But only if you meet our requirements. Only those of 16 years or older are allowed to attend. If you're 16 or 17 (and in some cases even when you're older), you must ask your parents or guardians for permission. That's a legal requirement. Which means it's really important. Be aware that if you're 16 or 17, you may be asked to leave earlier than most (after the main part of the meet is done) so we can enjoy certain things you might not be allowed to go.
Exact times and locations will be decided in private. If you're interested in coming, say so below, and we'll grant you board access.
We know that you might need to take a while to confirm your availablity here, therefore the deadline for attendance confirmation is the 28th July. After then, you will need to seek special permission from Typhlosion or myself in order to attend.
Again, here's something we wish to make clear: if you're going to walk off and do something by yourself, it's your own responsibility to find the group again. We're not waiting around for anybody.
We know going north may mean some people may not be able to attend, but it'll also make life easier for others - it's only fair more people in the north get to attend as well. Next year we'll look at London again, promise... but that's something we'll discuss another time.
(As for the small print: We reserve the right to refuse admittance to members for any reasons we consider appropriate. If, for example, you joined the site two days ago, you need to forgive us for not being quite as sure about your intentions. However, generally the meet is open to anyone).

I'm on holiday the week after, so I can't afford to take that weekend off! Needs me spending money!

3 hours on the train and £50 for a ticket... Tempting... Tempting... But I'm gonna have to say no... The 3 hours, I could do but a student on benifits can't afford that train price

I've been going to these things since they've started, but sadly due to distance and cost, I'm gonna have to pass this year.
Oh well, hopefully next year will be closer with all of our battling and trading with our copies of the RS remakes, haha. ;)

due to the distance and cost, I am wary. However, I am not saying "no", I would just like to see if my finances will allow, and also WHEN. I do not want to spend £100-odd for open day tickets, if it would be easier for me to buy advance singles, but of course, this would incur time restrictions.
TL;DR - can I get some approximations for our time-constraints so I know when to buy train tickets and hence whether or not I can make the journey?
I will make another post confirming later.

Same times as usual - meet's roughly 1PM to 6PM, though precise details will be fixed. Any other times are by invite.

Argh, I won't be able to make it. Seeing as how the cost of getting a train there would cost me a LOT of money and time. Shame really, seeing as I thought it'd be nice to come back to the site this summer AND come to the meet. Next year for sure. Maybe some people around here will know me by then. xD

It'd be pretty difficult to see Ben and Kay without seeing me, given that at the time I'll be living ten meters away from Ben, so I guess you can count me in, if my measly three-digit post count admits me 3:

Presuming you're coming from London and have a railcard, it's £56.10 for an off-peak day return and £38.30 to just buy two convenient singles - so you should come! All of you Londoners should come :3
I have to say, it'll be nice to be able to get to a meet for free for the first time ever in my case!

I'm afraid its a no from me this year. :( I'm so low on money at the moment, I can't really afford anything so a trip up north is out of the question. Annoying because that weekend I'm home alone and gonna be bored out of my mine. D=

Right, the responses have been pretty damning.
It seems like a meet outside London doesn't really attract much interest. Well, none at all really.
So we're sorry to announce that unless we have a sudden large increase in interest in the last week, the PKMN.NET 2012 meet is cancelled. It just isn't worth the time for us in this case.
We'll be back next year, in the usual places - London it is.
