Welcome to the new PKMN.NET layout! We figured it was time to make a few updates, and so here we are, with a total rework. Although most of the principles stay the same, our HTML has been cleaned up, junk removed, and what we've learned and know now has been applied to improve the site's layout just that bit more.
As you can see, we're back to red, which should please some. There's a number of smaller adjustments, mostly on the site. Just take a look and tell us what you think!

Ha, this is great! Love the Doctor Who reference. The only things I have a problem with is, when the contents of a page go down past the sidebar, the rest of the page continues from below the sidebar instead of keeping in line with the rest of the page contents. It doesn't happen on the forums, only on the main site.
Also, the Forums profile button in the welcome box thing on the main site doesn't take you to your forums profile. Other than that, it's looking great.

I like it, I <i>love it</i> in fact. its so..so.. bold! Which I <i>Love</i> really makes the place look more colorful and is quite nice in contract to some businese-like vibe a few sites give.
The slightly reduced viewing space might take sometime to get used to but, its a worthy comprimse.

This is by design and allows use of as much of the screen when the sidebars aren't there anymore. On the right sidebar especially this tends to matter a lot.

Right. I didn't expect it to widen out as I scrolled down is all. I'm sure I'll get use to it.
One thing I really do like though is everything having it's own little box. It makes things look, well, neater for want of a better word. And it's great being back to the red colour scheme.

my only problem is how bulky the sidebar is... tho i guess that'll be down to how familiar i am with small sidebars. i'll get used to it. n______n

Just a suggestion; try a forced refresh by pressing F5. It worked for me earlier.

I love this new layout, the pages aren't squished, there's no random white bits above and below the forums, text size isn't abnormally huge... great work guys :)

I like it. It reminds me of the old red one. Is there any chance of changing catchphrases on every page coming back?
My only problem is while browsing the forum (not in topics) it seems a bit too small. Is there any way to make it bigger?

If you've got a scroll button on your mouse, hold Control and Scroll up to increase the font size. But it doesn't look quite as nice unfortunately =[

Oooh... I do like the new layout. Seems more... spacious. The Box thing in the top right corner of the main site is awesome.
...am I the only one who might consider it a little, well, dark? Might just be my weird eyes, but heh. That's not a bad thing.
Question - is SMF skinning an option yet? Lots of blue still here on the forums. =p

The new layout is pretty darn sweet :D Do you know if customization and the ability to submit custom layouts will be available again soon?

It will be. I'm looking at options to convert the older layouts,but there's some other site stuff that I'd hoped to launch this weekend too that I'm now working on, since nobody else is. No promises

i like it. I approve of the curved edges, which sounds odd but hey.
nice to have red back, too. it looks good with my avatar at the top of the page.

or is porygon the mascot?

^Porygon2 might be because it was previously Porygon but now it has been 'upgraded' along with the lay-out?

Can't wait to see it working right at home, as my Grandparent's have Internet Explorer, not the Google Chrome I prefer. The laptop itsef isn't perfect either.

It will be. I'm looking at options to convert the older layouts,but there's some other site stuff that I'd hoped to launch this weekend too that I'm now working on, since nobody else is. No promises

Actually, I have one small problem with it. The boxes around the catagories, they look out of place with their harsh, straight lines.

I'm taking they're GAMES, ANIME, MISC, SITE and FORUMS. They all have straight edged boxes around them. =P
I don't really mind tbh, but would it be possible to try them with curved lines at the edges to see if that looks better?
If you don't have time I could printscreen and edit them on paint to show people what they would look like in different ways? Or would you prefer not?

Have you guys noticed this error? The content alligements seem to be messed up when it reaches a certian point:

If its intetional it looks alright sometimes but others it looks a bit messy.
I use FireFox latest ed.

It was intentional, but people keep mentioning it, so I've changed it and see whether it works better.

Another thing, occasionally the gray forum box (the one that posts like this are in) only reaches the Google sidebar, making it shorter, is there any way you can fix that? D:
EDIT: it only happens when someone makes a short enough post

i like it although is it possible to put like a colour slider in the corner so we can freely change the sites colour? just an idea...

Considering how many places use different but related colours on the site, as well as the images that'd need to be looked at, no, but new themes will be forthcoming when I can get some time to put a new devkit together (which may need to wait until a few more admins help out. Thanks to Rob and Mike for their help, but beyond that...)

Nearly had a heart attack when I logged in and Houndour had taken the place of my lovely Gardevoir and Gallade theme. ;;
But this is awesome and I do look forward to the devkit being built. :3
