Random Randomness / Re: what's depressing you right now?
« on: October 13, 2009, 16:16 »
Last night I went to a Bloc Party gig. It was all fine and dandy until just before the last song when the smoke alarm went off and we all had to leave. Pretty annoying in itself, but, rumour has it (or as my friend decided, either way) the last song was gonna be Flux which is a right good song. That's depressing me (kinda. It was an amazing night anyways...).

and for good measure...

Guns N' Roses - Garden Of Eden
Guns N' Roses - Rocket Queen

What's making me happy? My new trainers came today and they are awesome. And Sin City book 1 also came today which is just an awesome comic. Love it.

For liking Pixie Lott a lot. And informing me that we were now on some sort of ship... Cap'n.

After finally finishing New Moon (it was boring...) I've managed to get onto Eclipse which is slightly better. I'm also having to read Dracula for English. After them two I'll most likely read either Breaking Dawn or Lord Loss by Darren Shan (bought that for 99p!)

Just about to finish the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (y'know, the novel). Better than any other incarnation of it really (anime and manga versions). Now I've gotta wait until October for the second novel to come out...

I'm reading New Moon at the minute. Started it like a month ago then got bored. After finally watching Twilight and thinking the film was good I thought I may as well read the next before that film comes out. I'm also reading Doctor Faustus for English. 17th century plays are hard to read...

Isn't it supposed to be a bland retread of American Idiot...?

Idk, I haven't heard it, seems good though =]
Not at all. It sounds completely different. Sounds a lot like their older stuff prior to AI mixed with their Foxboro Hot Tubs stuff (their other band, its basically Green Day with a saxophonist, a pianist and a better guitarist). Its much better than American Idiot as well.

Lucky. So damn repetetive.

Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? [awful guitar solo] Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy? Do you know your enemy?  [even MOAR awful guitar solo] END.
Actually, the song goes somewhat more like this:

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Violence is an energy
Against the enemy
Violence is an energy

Bringing on the fury
The choir infantry
Revolt against the honor to obey

[Awful guitar solo]

Etc.

The whole album is a lot more appealing with some great bass lines, drum beats and vocals. Too bad Billie Joe's a crap guitarist. The album isn't repetitive at all. There's too many different genres on that album...

I have the Insomniac CD, too, but I haven't listened to it yet, so I'm not obsesed with any of the songs.
And that's their best album as well... Anyways, songs I'm obsessed with:

Peacemaker - Green Day
Christian's Inferno - Green Day
Murder City - Green Day
Delirium Trigger - Coheed and Cambria
Boys Boys Boys - Lady GaGa (possibly the greatest song ever... heh)
Boom! Boom! Boom! - The Outhere Brothers
AND
I'm On A Boat! - The Lonely Island Ft. T-Pain (just got told by a Facebook quiz that I am on a boat so have become re-obsessed with the song)

Good stuff, eh?

Icky Thump - The White Stripes

Who needs Neil Peart drum solos when you can just have a simplistic Meg White?
I do. Songs:

Tom Sawyer - Rush
Don't Say "Lazy" - Yoko Hikasa
Cageyake! Girls - Aki Toyosaki
Dilirium Trigger - Coheed and Cambria
Police Truck - Dead Kennedys
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica

Think thats about it. Also got back into a lot of High and Mighty Color and Maximum the Hormone songs...

I don't know really. I think it was that everyday for the month leading up to the Dizzee Rascal gig in our city we had him playing constantly in our 6th form common room. Got used to it then ended up liking it. Was annoying as hell to begin with though.
