It was the end of the school day, and all the kids were headed home, walking through the busy city streets. To most of them, today would be no different. But to some this would be a day they would never forget. One such student was a girl, one of the older students of the local school. Her world was about to be turned upside down, and the reason was walking just metres behind her.
This wasn't the first time he'd had to get involved in this girl's life. It certainly wasn't going to be his last either. The young man, looking no older than his late teens, walked behind the girl who looked to be about his age, maybe a little younger. The reason was soon exposed, as the girl stepped out into the busy road before her, not realising that a car was hurtling towards her. The young man sighed and stepped forward, pushing the girl clear of the vehicle.
He made one fatal mistake...Guardian Angels aren't supposed to give their own lives to save a human.
As the young man came to, he found himself surrounded by people for the first time in his life, one of which was the girl he'd just saved. As he began to lose conciousness again, the questions ran through his head; how could they see him? How did he end up in such a mess, when he was supposedly immortal? All these questions were met by one answer;
"I gave my immortality for her...and became human..."
PLOT:
It's the end of the day, and people are finally able to return home from work/school. On the way home however, a select few end up in what SHOULD have been a fatal accident. Instead, they find themselves saved by a mysterious stranger who witnesses claim quite literally 'came from nowhere'.
Humans:
While recovering, they reveal their identity; your saviour is your own guardian angel who, whether accidently or not, gave their immortality and angel status to save your life. Being indebted, you humans must now find somewhere for the former angels to live, and protect them from the threats of both your world and the possibility of a threat from beyond.
Note: Human Characters may know one another from around the city (school, work place etc.)
Ex-Angels:
Having saved the human you were tasked with for their entire life, you find yourself injured beyond anything you've ever felt before (simply because you've never been hurt before). Realising you've lost your immortality, and that humans are now capable of seeing you, you must adapt to the lifestyle of the people you were charged with taking care of. And with the threat of your disposal lingering above your head, it appears the tables have completely turned.
Note: Ex-Angels will recognise one another as an Ex-Angel, since all Guardian Angels in the city know one another in some way.
RULES:
- No Limelighting except in your starter post.
- No God-Modding* as it is unfair on the original user of the character you're controlling.
- Romance is obviously allowed (hence the [R] tag) but try to be reasonable on those reading this topic. Nothing overly graphic (hugging and kissing are more than fine). If you want your romance to go further (with permission from the other roleplayer) do a mini-timeskip for your characters only, ensuring minimal details (preferably no details) are given as to what happened during the timeskip.
- Violence is allowed to a certain degree, since there is likely to be fighting involved due to the Ex-Angels trying to survive. But like the above rule, don't be too graphic. Leave gore out of the posts, adding only the essential details.
- Maximum of two characters are allowed per person; One human, one Ex-Angel.
- After your starter post, all characters must be at the hospital with their guardian angel.
*God-Modding is controlling another person's character for your own personal gain. The only time this is allowed is if the other roleplayer posts ON THIS TOPIC saying that they allow you to control their character.

Name: Bliss Carter.
Age: Sixteen.
Gender: Female.
Personality: Bliss is the girl in the background when it comes to school, as well as busy public places. She is quiet and doesn’t have the guts to go up to people to make new friends or even chat to then, in her mind it is a curse. Bliss is only loud and her fun random self when she is with her best friend who she met when she was only four. Brandon is the only person who knows about this girl’s fun side, and he tries his best to show others. He is the opposite of Bliss in public places and school. He is the one that everyone gets on with, so that’s most likely the only reason Bliss doesn’t get bullied. Even though she barely talks to people she can stand up for herself, and is very stubborn when she wants to be. Other than that she is a big fan of music and most of the time is listening to it. Just to keep her entertained seeing as it takes her mind of everything around her, making her feel at peace.
Description: Bliss stands at the small height of Five foot four, which is perfect when she doesn’t want to be seen, she also is very slim which people who notice her normally comment about. Her hair falls past her shoulders for about three inches and is ebony black which she dyes every four weeks. Her shiny black hair makes her pale white skin stand out more than it already did- but it also makes it look clear of any spots or marks. Which of course Bliss is thankful for. Her eyes are outstandingly blue, well they have three different shades of blue all mixed together, which make them easy to love in love with. Even though she likes to stay in the shadows, her clothes are always random, and even colourful. Bliss likes fashion, but she likes her own style. To be her own person in a way. Bliss’ style changes all the time- that means her music taste, food taste and hair styles as well.

Hates: Bugs, except spiders and dragonflies. Stuck up people, girls/boys who think they are better than everyone else and of course school.

Starter Post:
“Oi! Special case!” A boy’s voice called through the cowed halls. The bell had already gone and Bliss was making a quick exit for the front doors. Finally she could escape the horror of school, something she could wait to leave for good. With a sigh the girl came to a stop, before dodging a passing boy who seemed to be staring at his feet. Urgh, look where you’re going idiot. She thought to herself before she realised a familiar face was grinning down at her. “So you are meeting me at mine at six?” Brandon asked whilst linking his arm through Bliss’s.
“Yes, like every day Brandon.” Bliss laughed lightly and returned Brandon’s grin which soon faded when a girl started approaching them. The girls’ name is Kate. Also known as the most popular girl at school and Brandon’s girlfriend. Like usual she was glaring at Bliss. “I guess I will see you later.” Bliss muttered as the tall blonde was nearly with them, but as Bliss tried to unlink her arm Brandon tightened his like he wasn’t going to let her go.
“Give her a try Bliss. You are fun, so show it.” He muttered quietly but Bliss just shook her head and pulled her arm free.
Bliss was about to reply but a whiny voice had beaten her to it. “Brandon… What are you doing with little Miss Freak again? I thought we were going to hang out at the park.” Kate moaned and took Bliss’s place next to the guy.
Bliss knowing Brandon too well smiled at Kate and replied for her friend. “Don’t worry, I am just leaving. See yah Brandon.” But before the boy could reply she was hidden in the cowed of people and out of the front doors of the school.
“I still can’t believe they are together… She is thick as a brick.” Bliss muttered to herself whilst shoving her hand into her pockets as she looked around her. The girl started to repair herself for the walk home- the same routine she did every school day. Bliss tugged on the zip of her hoodie until it was all the way up, flipped the hood over her head and then put her ear phones in. She turned the song to ‘Without You by David Guetta featuring Usher.’ For that day it was Bliss’s favourite song and it always made her peaceful. Zoning out, Bliss took off for home. It normally took her ten minutes if nothing new happened to her. She couldn’t help but hum along to the some of the songs and that’s what made her forget to check her surroundings. Just as she was about to look to her right, she’s felt herself be pushed forward causing her ear phones to fall out. That’s when she heard the squealing of the car’s tires on the road and a thump as it finally hit an unwanted target.
She heard a few screams of shock, as well as some gasps. But Bliss was already at the boys’ side. Oh god. Oh god. That should have been me. Her mind was screaming as the guilt and shock hit her as she knelt next to the boy who was lying on the ground. Bliss already had tears in her eyes as she took the boy in. He looked a few years older than her, with cute shoulder length hair that was in his eyes. She didn’t know what she was doing until she realised her hand had brushed the hair out of his eyes gently. Quickly she pulled her hand back and thought in shock that someone had noticed her. She’d been close to being hit by a car before, seeing as the driver or people around her never seemed to see her. But this boy did…
“Move please.” Bliss finally said to the people who were gathering around the boy. They were shocked at first that she asked in a calm voice but did as she said. “Thank you.” She muttered wishing that this was a dream.
“He appeared out of nowhere… Honestly. I am not lying! Somehow the girl just tumbled out of the way before the car hit her. Then poof! A boy was in her place.” An older lady was saying to the few people who had come to see what had happened. Bliss bit her lip as she said the car was going to hit her but tried to cover her frown as she heard about the boy coming out of nowhere. That doesn’t matter! It looks like he was the one to save you! Somehow… Her mind went off as she looked down at the boy who had been hit. Only this time, his eyes where open.

Name: Kylar ‘Kai’ Lawton
Age: (48) 19
Gender: Male
Personality: Kylar is a quiet young man, who prefers to keep himself to himself. He is incredibly protective of anyone he considers worthy of protection, including those he was told to protect as a Guardian Angel. Being young compared to most Guardian Angels, Kylar is considered a child by many, and sometimes they aren't far wrong. His first human ended their own life, scarring him mentally, and causing him to remain partially childlike.
He becomes attached to humans very quickly, although whether he can handle being around many humans and having to interact remains to be seen.
Description: Kylar is rather average of build, if slightly on the skinny side. His skin is quite pale, contrasting his dark brown hair and eyes, although his eyes are usually hidden just behind his fringe. His hair reaches just below his shoulders, and is usually left loose unless the weather is hot, in which case he puts it up. Kylar also occasionally wears glasses, due to his vision not being exactly perfect. They aren't a necessity, but he likes to have them there anyway.
His clothing varies a lot of the time, but his personal preference is a pair of dark jeans and Converses on his bottom half. His top half is covered by either a white or black buttoned shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and 2 black wristbands on either wrist.

Name: Nancy Lane
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Personality: Nancy is not what people expect when they meet her. Your initial impression of a literature-loving person working in a bookstore is that they're shy and quiet, right? Well, people keep making the mistake to keep that stereotype for anyone working at By The Cover, especially in Nancy's case. She doesn't take rude comments or insults at all, especially when you try to be discreet about it. She is actually nice when you get to know her, but she comes off as tired and grumpy at first. She turns into a big softie when around cats, however, and is much more happy and pleasant to speak with when she's around them. Mice and hamsters are also a weakpoint. Or sweet desserts. Or a cinema trip. You know what, she has a lot of weaknesses to her unintended 'tired of everything' attitude.
Description: Nancy is 5"7 and has a slender-ish figure, with a bit of a flat chest. She has ginger hair that she cuts short, giving her a bit of a boyish appearance. Her skin a shade tanner than fair. She normally wears jeans, but her shirts are varied (though they're almost always a bright colour / black with funny text on the front). Her favourite shirt, one she wears most often, is a black T-shirt with "Would you kindly" written in lime and block capitals on the front.
Interests: Music (prefers orchestral pieces), literature, film & television, food, travel, cats & most rodents.
Hates: Water (not a strong swimmer), horses (phobia), dogs (phobia), pop music (though she has some guilty pleasures).
Other: Nancy likes girls as much as she likes boys. ;)
Starter Post:
"No, ma'am," Nancy sighed, heaving a box over to a set of shelves in the 'just-in' section. She hated these kind of customers. "We do not have any books by Jane Eyre." When she put the box down, she turned to face the student. "We do, however, have novels by Charlotte Bronte that are titled Jane Eyre."
The student huffed and folded her arms. "Well, geez, you don't have to be so snippy."
"I'm not snippy. Your attitude, on the other hand..."
The teenager looked apalled and spat, "Hey! You're supposed to be nice to customers, aren't you? 'The customer is always right'?"
Nancy let out a quick laugh and cut the box open with her scissors. In this case, the customer wasn't right, but she didn't need to bring that up again. "And we have a policy that customers should be nice to employees, or be thrown out. You're not painting a pretty picture here by introducing yourself with, 'Hey, you!' "
The student growled. "I want to speak to your manager!" Nancy just pointed in a general direction and let the girl stomp away. When she was out of sight, Nancy began sliding the books onto the empty shelves. When she saw which book she was restocking, she sighed. The masses really liked bad grammar and poor storytelling, didn't they?
The stomping came back. Nancy looked up in time to be kicked in the face by the student's shoe. Was this girl possessed or something?!
"Before I go, this is why you're supposed to be nice!" And the girl reached at the shelves and pulled until the bookcase began to tip.
Nancy was holding her jaw when the bookcase loomed over her. She tried to scramble out of the way but she wouldn't have got out of reach anyway. She squeezed her eyes shut and waited.
Nancy felt someone push her. There was a loud crash as the heavy shelves fell on top of something. Nancy waited. There were screams and panicked shouts. There was pain. Wait. The pain was still in her jaw. She opened her eyes. Shaking, she looked behind her at the fallen bookcase. There were hands poking out from underneath it. Nancy got to her feet and ran closer. She gripped beneath the edge of the bookcase and started to lift, shouting, "Are you okay?!" at the person trapped underneath.
A couple of cashiers and customers ran over to help. Bystanders began explaining to people who came to see the commotion, claiming that someone had appeared from nowhere and pushed the ginger-haired woman out of the way.

Name: Elizabeth 'Lizzy' Kane
Age: 18 (really around 45)
Gender: Female
Personality: Elizabeth has always been a caring person and extremely protective of the people she cares about and the child she was 'given' to protect. Although kind hearted, Elizabeth can be strict when it comes to rules and is one who enjoys order and structure when it comes to plans, disorganisation and mess is something she cannot deal with. Overall she is kind but can be over protective and slightly OCD with messes.
Description: Elizabeth has long blonde hair that is slightly wavy and falls slightly below her shoulders, her skin is fairly pale but there is a hint of pink in her cheeks. Lizzy's eyes are a bright hazel brown that contrast slightly with her pale skin and hair. She has a slender figure and looks a little breakable because of this, her clothes generally consist of something 'practical and smart.'

Interests: Music, but the classical kind. Reading, proper old literature books, cooking and being a host for people.
Hates: Anything messy, anything macabre.

Starter Post: Elizabeth walked behind a young boy, she had watched him grow up and become fond of him, and even though he couldn't see her she liked to think of him as a friend. Keeping close to Carter as he left the school grounds, waving goodbye to his friends and shouldering his bag he started towards his house. Liz knew the journey as well as Carter by now, if not better and it was usually uneventful, but she kept her look out anyway. Just in case...
The walk usually took about half an hour, but this time it would take a lifetime. That's how it felt to Liz anyway.
Stopping at a main road that had to be crossed, Carter seemed a little big for his boots today and 'forgot to look', Elizabeth had to think quick, and didn't consider the consequences before she had already followed through. And now she was lying on the road, Cater now on the other side, stunned at what had happened.
Elizabeth felt pain, immense pain. It was alien and she was confused. Cars had stopped and were now being held up by her lying in the middle of the road...
'What... What's happening. They can't see me... Can they?' She thought, struggling to remain conscious after the accident.

Name: Skyler "Sky" Michaels
Age: 21 (really about 42)
Gender: Female
Personality: Skyler is a fairly brave (or foolish) person, who is always willing to protect others, even at immense costs to herself. Which is probably why she was such an ideal guardian angel...
She comes across as quiet and antisocial, but really she is just uncomfortable around strangers. When she opens up to someone, Sky proves to be a talkative, rather energetic companion. She's rather easy going, unless someone she cares about is threatened.
She relies a lot on instinct, even if it gets her in trouble.
Description: Sky is about 5"9', with short, somewhat raggedy red hair. She has a slightly lopsided grin, making her look somewhat like an idiot. Her grey eyes are bright, and always flickering to something interesting.
As a head band (or around her neck/over her eyes if it suits her) Sky wears a pair of brass aviator's goggles, with dark tinted lenses.
Her usual dress style is a brown leather jacket with wool inner lining, over a white shirt and a pair of brown cargo pants. Her shoes are boots that come to the middle of her shins. She also has a pair of brown leather gloves, that she wears when it's cold.
Interests: Steampunk fashions, literature (fantasy and sci fi mostly), cats, dogs, hawks, chocolate, being in action, flying/freefall
Hates: Waiting, rodents (they freak her out), licorice, idiots, squealy fangirls, being stuck on the ground.
Other: N/A atm
Starter Post: Sky walked towards By The Cover, following a rather surly looking teenager. She's probably a student. I wouldn't want to be whoever ends up serving her. Sky thought, planning on catching up to her charge after other business (okay the guilty pleasure of sky diving on duty) had taken her away from the job.
She slipped in just after the foul tempered student, scowling slightly as the brat called out 'Hey you!' to the person at the shelves. When the woman looked up, Skyler let herself be startled. It was her charge.
Right off the bat, the student started being a snippy, moronic, rather unpleasant person. Sky almost wanted to whack her upside the head. When she stormed off, Sky got a leaden feeling in her stomach. Something bad was about to happen.
When the student came back, Sky was looking at titles on the shelf. She heard the stomping, and turned, to see the student kick Nancy in the jaw.
Sky's eyes widened when the student spoke. "Before I go, this is why you're supposed to be nice!" She watched the little brat start to pull the shelf, and then moved, shoving her charge out of harms way.
Problem being she couldn't move fast enough to get herself clear. Everything was a dizzying inferno of pain, an altogether unpleasant feeling. The last thing Sky was aware of was her charge asking if she was okay and the brutal weight of the shelf. Then everything went dark...

Name: Victoria 'Vi' Moriah
Age: 20 (Older than she appears to be for obvious reasons. Originally born in the 50s)
Gender: Female
Personality: For a Guardian Angel, Vi is rather laid back. It is very hard to get her angered, mostly due to her origins; in life she'd been a 'flower child'. Peace and love are very important to her, and she loves being able to get on with people. War is not the way to go - everyone can get along if everyone just listens and understands each other. Along with this, Vi can be very patient. She's always willing to lend an ear to someone who wants to talk to her. Vi is very calm, yet very compassionate. She wants to help in any way she can - and usually ends up blaming herself if she can't. Perhaps not as noticable, but she's a bottler - she bottles all the negative feelings inside of her just so she can be a better person. But Vi knows when to act. Sometimes it makes her a little reckless - she'd risk her life to save her charge, if anything, she's watched them grow up since they were very small. Whilst she is very dependable and generous, sometimes it's almost a little too much - she's often seen as the doormat, and thus sometimes gets used.
Description: The most noticable feature you'll notice will probably be her hair - she's ginger. (Of course she has a soul, your stereotypes are invalid). Not just auburn, either, but a proper carrot orange. It reaches just past her shoulders, and is parted through the middle. She wears her hair with two braids at the front, framing her face. Speaking of the face, she's often described as being unearthly beautiful, with symmetrical features and a straight nose. And then there's the freckles. Oh, no, she was not gifted with them just being across the bridge of her nose and under her eyes - they're all over her face and body, if a little faded elsewhere. She has a pair of grey-blue eyes, with long lashes and usually devoid of make-up. She has a average build, and is also average in height.

Name: Carter Price
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Personality: Carter is a friendly and popular sixteen year old who keeps his feet firmly on the ground so to speak. While he has his dreams and aspirations Carter is always fully aware of the work he has to put into things to make those aspirations a reality. His hardworking attitude often gets him criticism from the minority in his school, but he remains completely unfazed by them.
Carter is often viewed as being older than he actually is, purely because of his interests and the way he holds himself in public. Just like every other young man though, he loves to go out to play sports with his friends and enjoy his life. He will always go home at the end of the day and read a good book though.
Description: In terms of appearance Carter isn’t exactly somebody who stands out in a crowd. He stands at around 5’10”, and is of average build, if ever so slightly on the skinny side. His blond hair is kept short, allowing his youthful face and warm brown eyes to be visible for all. His clothing of choice consists of a pair of jeans, a simple t-shirt and a jumper of some description over the top (usually a sports jacket). He wears simple trainers on his feet with the exception of when he’s playing sports, where he’ll wear a pair of plastic studded shoes.

Starter Post: Finally, home time. School had been another day of insanely difficult work for most. Carter was of no exception, and he couldn’t wait to get home and just relax. Leaving the gates of the school he smiled at a friend of his, who was headed to speak to a black-haired girl, whom he’d seen but not spoken to. Kate won’t be happy with that… he thought to himself, before he headed out of the school.
The roads were busy as usual at this time, with people driving their children home from school. Sometimes Carter wished someone would drive him home, but of course no-one in his family could drive. With a sigh he put his earphones in and hit the play button on his MP3. Almost instantly Pachelbel’s Canon began playing in his ears, his mind soothing and lulling him into a sense of security.
This was a mistake.
As he headed to cross the road he wasn’t paying attention. A car shot around the corner and down the road he was crossing. He turned in time to see the car, but not to move. His eyes filled with terror and then – THUD! He hit the floor on the opposite side of the road. For a moment he was confused as to why he wasn’t as hurt as he’d expected to be. But then he saw her; a blonde haired girl was on the floor a few feet away from him. For a moment he sat there stunned, unsure of what to do or what to say. ((Understood Poison2007. We shall now begin. Everybody will be in the hospital. Angels, you'll be injured but not too severely (cuts and bruises more than anything. Your immortality saved you from more severe injuries). Humans, you'll be visiting the people that saved you (AKA the angels). Let's goooo!))
Kylar's eyes flickered open, a feeling of sheer grogginess rushing to his brain. He'd passed out shortly after seeing Bliss' face looking down at him, and now he was somewhere completely different. The young man squinted and squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, then opened them again. With his vision a little clearer, Kylar was able to make out figures in a corridor in front of him. One of the figures entered the room he was in and stood beside his bed. "Oh good, you're awake. How're you feeling?" The voice was of a female's, a little cutesy in pitching.
Kylar squinted again, this time at the figure. For a moment he panicked, unsure of what was happening. But then he realised that he was no long invisible to humans, and so she had to have been talking to him. "Er...I er..." He quickly inhaled, then exhaled before trying again. "Like I was thrown six feet in the air by a car." he replied with a soft chuckle, before wincing due to a pain in his chest.
"I'll get you some morphine for the pain. It's surprising you've come to as soon as you have. You have a visitor by the way. I'll send her in for you." With that the figure left, leaving Kylar in the room alone again, this time wondering who this visitor might be.

Elizabeth wanted to just keep her eyes closed forever, she hated the pain. Sighing and flicking her eyes open she was somewhat confused at her surroundings... "Where am I?" she groaned quietly, shifting slightly and trying not to wince.
"Ahh, good you're awake." a young man wearing scrubs spoke, walking to the bed while looking at a clipboard, "follow thos light please" he spoke calmly while shining a light in Elizabeths eyes, "Well, you seem to be ok. Nothings broken which is a good sign and there isn't any symptoms of concussion. But I'll get someone to get painkillers for you. But for bow there is a visitor for you. i'll send him through"
Elizabeth just nodded along, looking a little stunned and feeling very confused, "O... Okay..." she spoke quietly

Nancy couldn't help it; she couldn't stop pacing back and forth in front of the door. Behind it was the person who had saved her from the same fate. Nancy could have been seriously hurt. Or dead. That just made worrying about her heroine worse; she could have died.
Nancy had been outside the room since she herself had been checked out by a doctor. Her jaw was fine. Nothing was fractured or out of place, but she had been warned of the bruise it would leave and that she could take painkillers if the pain got that bad. The maniac student that started this in the first place was dragged off by mall security. Here was hoping she'd get locked up in juvenile hall.
She finally stopped walking and just stood still. She leant against the wall beside the door and let out a long sigh. The longer Nancy waited to say thank you to this woman, the more she got nervous. Nancy - nor the doctors, for that part - didn't have any idea about 'Jane Doe's' real name. Who was she?

Carter was motioned into a room by a young doctor and he cautiously approached. He stood in the doorway for a couple of seconds before he finally summoned up the courage to knock gently on the door. "Erm...sorry to disturb you Miss...I was told I could visit you now... His voice was soft and showed clear signs of his nerves that were raging through him. He had so many questions to ask, had a massive apology to make and then he had to figure out how he could possibly repay this person's act. All he really wanted to do was to go home and sit alone to get his head around everything that had happened, but he knew he had to stay. "I'm the person you pushed to safety...

Bliss was fiddling away at the old earhpones. Little dents covered the plastic due to Bliss nervously chewing at it as she waited for news on the boy. She had her leg crossed like a child does when sitting on the floor, only she was sitting on a waiting room chair. The petite girl was so out of it, she didn't notice the shadow that had over cast her, or even hear the slight cough to get her attention. Only when a hand reached out and touched her arm did she jump from her seat, letting out a silent yelp.
"Sorry Sir." Bliss mumbled quietly as she noticed it was the doctor. Of course Bliss cheeks were a flaming red with embarrassment.
"It's quite all right Miss. I was coming to get you to see the young lad you're here for. He has just woken up." The doctor said whilst already moving for the door. Bliss quickly followed the man along and soon enough was in front a white door. The doctor left Bliss to it.
"Come on... Don't chicken out now." Bliss muttered under her breath before pushing the door open and slipping into the room. Awkwardly standing by the door she looked up at the boy and but her lip. "I don't know why you did it, but thank you for pushing me out of the way. Stupid of you, but thank you."

Kylar had decided to have some water from the glass beside his bed. As he took the sip however, he heard a voice from the other side of the room.
"I don't know why you did it, but thank you for pushing me out of the way. Stupid of you, but thank you."
The shock of hearing the voice caused the former angel to choke on the water, barely managing to put the glass down before putting his hand to his mouth. After a few seconds he caught his breath and looked up sheepishly. "Sorry... He took a moment to take in the figure before him. It was Bliss! He quickly went bright red in embarrassment. All those years of looking after her, and now suddenly she was here when he was in this state.
Kylar suddenly realised that he needed to respond to Bliss' words, and motioned for her to sit beside his bed. "I didn't really have much choice but to push you out of the way. It's...well...I had to. I couldn't let you get hurt." he replied, biting his tongue at the end of his words. She didn't know he'd looked after her for so long, and she couldn't know now.

Bliss glanced to the end of to his bed before glancing back to Kaylars face. She shuffled awkwardly until she was close enough to hop on got the end of the bed and sit there quietly. "Why couldn't you let me get hurt. You don't know me." Bliss states whilst staring at the lad.

Kylar watched as Bliss walked over and hopped upon the end of the bed, her eyes never leaving his face. After a short silence her lips moved, and words just about tumbled from her mouth.
"Why couldn't you let me get hurt? You don't know me."
Kylar sighed at this. Not because he did in fact know her very well, but because of the way Bliss seemed to think so low of herself. "Would you have done the same were it the other way round? Yes. I did what I needed to do. It's just that simple." he replied, a smile appearing slowly on his face. "You've a funny way of showing appreciation." he added jokingly, his smile now a rather cheeky grin. "I'm Kylar by the way. Kylar Lawton. But I guess you can call me Kai given the circumstances."

"People don't notice me. So why save me?" Bliss questioned but Kylars cheeky remark broke the girls awkwardness slightly as a smile broke onto her face. "Bliss Carter. Now I just have to make it up to you." The girl said as her face lit up with amusement. Kicking off her shoes, the girl crossed her legs on the bed, it sit like a school child again. "So what do I have to do to repay you, Kai?"

"She's fine. She's here to see you, Miss...?" The doctor asked, and Sky had to resist shrugging again.
"Skyler Michaels." She said absently, glancing around the room. She relaxed when she saw her clothes on a table, then grimaced slightly at the large crack in the left lens on her goggles.
"I'll let her know you're awake. You know it could have been a lot worse, you know that, right?" The doctor said, thinking that Sky's grimace was at being in hospital.
"I know." Sky said absently, mind ticking The boss is gonna kill me. Stupid fool. First rule is don't give your life for your chage. Easiest rule in existance, and I broke it. Stupid dumbass

After running into the doctor as he exited the room, Nancy was told that she could see the woman now. She took a deep breath and poked her head around the door. Yep, she was indeed awake. Nancy walked in and gave her a small wave.
"Uh, hey," she began, but then a sharp pain stopped her. She flinched. Brilliant; left side of her jaw, the same spot where she had been kicked. It must've turned into a nasty bruise by now; she hadn't seen her reflection yet to check it out for herself. She looked back and smiled. "Sorry. I'm Nancy Lane, the person whose life you saved."
Nancy walked up to the end of the bed. "Thanks for saving my life, by the way. Would've been even better if you didn't get squashed instead though. So, what's the verdict?"

"So what can I do to repay you Kylar?"
Explain what was going on? Tell him everything was going to be okay regardless of the situation he was in? Both of these were far beyond the girl he'd looked after for the past 16 years, since she couldn't understand what he was going through. Instead he had to think something up on the spot. "Be more careful in future? Next time I might not be there to get you clear." he replied, attempting to be humorous about it but failing. "Well to be honest, I have no idea where I'll be this time tomorrow, let alone if there's a next time..."

Carter nodded to each of Elizabeth's questions. He was barely able to get any words out as it was, so saving his breath was the best option. He slowly walked towards the end of the bed and leaned on the footboard at the bottom, his eyes not leaving that of his elder. He hesitated for a moment, before finally opening his mouth to speak again. "How did you save me? I never even saw you..."

"No counting on me being safe. I am a complete klutz!" Bliss chuckled in amausement. Anyone who knows her well enough would know that Bliss could easily trip over her two feet if getting too distracted. Only the small smile that was on her face, disappeared and turned into a frown at what the lad said next. "Don't you have anywhere to stay?" Bliss asked shocked before smiling brightly. "Simple, you can come stay at mine. Repaying favour done!"

This was incredibly true, and Kylar knew this all too well. The number of times he'd had to steer Bliss clear of situations or casually nudge something out of her way was beyond count. Nonetheless he'd enjoyed being her guardian due to her relaxed and vibrant nature, something that had kept him drawn to her throughout all of these years.
"Don't you have anywhere to stay? Simple, you can come stay at mine. Repaying favour done!"
This was an unexpected turn of events. But there again maybe Kylar should have seen this coming. He knew all too well that Bliss was one of the most caring people he'd ever had the privilege of meeting, let alone guarding. At first he was going to decline, but then he remembered how stubborn the girl could be and let out a sigh of pre-determined defeat. It's not like he had anywhere else anyway, and he knew all to well that she'd catch him out on that. "...Okay...I won't try to talk you out of it. You're stubborn, and I can tell that already."

Elizabeth sighed slightly at Carters question, she had no clue as to how she would answer. Holding the boys gaze she opened her mouth as if to speak, but closed it again and paused to think.
"It is a very, very long and confusing story. I did what I had to... Thats all I can tell you for now. Untill I can explain it better at least." She looked away from her charge and sighed again, "I'm sorry if I startled you, but it had to be done, I couldn't let you get hurt." Elizabeth spoke with something that sounded like desperation, she didn't want Carter to ask questions until she could give him an answer, she needed him to trust her and be happy with the answer she could give him

Carter sighed and nodded. He wasn't happy with the answer, that much was obvious. But he understood that he may not ever understand the reason for her saving him. "Well then...is there anything I can do for you? I don't have many things to offer that can repay you for what you've done, so actions will have to do for now. Anything at all, just name it and I'll do my best."

Elizabeth smiled at Carter, "Thank you" She smiled warmly and looked around the small white and blue hospital room, "I could use some company for awhile. I shouldn't be here too long... But you could stay and chat for a bit... If you'd like?" She spoke slowly, carefully almost. She didn't know the rules in this situation, so she tried to tread carefully.

Bliss grinned as Kylar agreed to staying with her. "Yep I am stubborn. Once I make my mind up I don't change it." The petite girl confirmed with a nod of her head. Then she started to pick at her nail vanish, just as she got into her awkward ways again. Pursing her lips, to a point were she looked like a duck, Bliss looked around the room to see what she could at least try and make conversation about. "So where did you come from? I heard a lady on the street you appeared out of nowhere."

Carter looked at the ground awkwardly. "I...I'm not the best of company. I barely know you. I don't know your interests or anything, and my own interests are a little...outdated I guess. Is there anything in particular that you would like to talk about?" His voice was somewhat undetermined between being excited at talking to this girl who interested him, but nervousness at not knowing what to say.

"I just happened to be headed across the road myself. I saw you take a step forward and just reacted. Nothing special. The lady probably didn't see me initially just because I keep to myself most of the time. I don't really interact with other people, and just go through life doing what needs to be done. Truth be told, I've never really gotten attention for anything excepting today." His reply was surprisingly elaborate even by his standards, and was actually not too far from the truth at all. "I have to say though, that car was travelling awfully fast..."

Elizabeth smiled and laughed softly, it was odd being able to talk to the child she had watched grow up, "Em, to start off with my name in Elizabeth Kane, most people call me Lizzy or Liz... I like poetry, espeacially Edgar Allen Poe, I like Shakespeare and old classic literature and classical music... So my interests are rather 'outdated' as you put it." She looked over to the chair that was in the corner of the room, "You can pull it over and sit down if you want to, or sit on the edge of the bed..." She smiled to Cater with another soft smile

He couldn't possibly intrude and then seat himself so close to Elizabeth so he dragged the chair over to the bed and sat beside Elizabeth sheepishly. He was completely unsure of what to say. And then he remembered that she'd introduced herself. "I'm...Carter Price." Short and to the point. There wasn't much else to say. Her mention of Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare caught his attention though. "You read old literature too? Who's your favourite writer? What's your favourite text?" This young woman had suddenly become a million times more interesting to him.

Bliss stared at the boy lying in the bed for a few seconds, before blinking and letting out a long sigh. Running a hand though her hair she tried not to the let the guilt eat her up. It should have been me. I should be more careful. The petite girl thought repeatedly as her eye darted back to the boy and a small smile appeared on her lips. Something about Kylar just made her smile, she wasn't sure what and to be honest she didn't care. She liked it. "The city always get mad drivers wanting to get places fast." Bliss murmered with a shrug.

Carter's eyes widened ever so slightly, although he had no idea they had done so. He was having a genuine conversation with someone about something that really interested him. And not only that, they were as interested as he was!
"I'd say my favorite writer would have to be Shakespeare, my favorite text, hmm... So many to choose from, I'd have to say Sonnet 130. What about you, who's your favorite?"
Sonnet 130, one of his favourite pieces by Shakespeare, but not his most favourite by any means.
"Sonnet 130, one of the best texts written purely due to the way Shakespeare is able to use negative descriptions to shed a positive and realistic light on the woman in his life. However, my favourite text is The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. I'm not sure why but it's just...an amazing example of how great the English language can be if used right."
For a moment Carter was going to continue. He cut himself short however as he realised he'd started to ramble, and went ever so slightly red.

Kylar glanced out of the window as he let the words register in his head.
"The city always get mad drivers wanting to get places fast."
He nodded in agreement, deciding to push back the niggling feeling in his mind that there was something more to it, and looked back at Bliss. "Well regardless of it you're safe and I'm still alive. That's the important thing."

"That's true. If you died I don't know what I would have done." Bliss thought out loud and her mind wandered off to imagine how horrible it would have been to think someone died to save her. The small girl shrived slightly before blinking and returning her gaze to Kai. "What injures did you get?" She asked lightly, as she let her eyes run over what she could see of his body.

Kylar chuckled and pulled down the covers a little to show the bandages on his body. "It's mostly scrapes and bruises, but my chest took a bit of a beating from the car and from the road. Got a gash across my chest, but it's not too deep. Just need to keep it clean and covered for a coupla days and just change the dressing apparently. Not that I have any idea how to do that..." His reply, despite being in-depth, was pretty much what he was told by the nurse who'd spoken to him. In truth he had no idea what had happened in terms of injuries; he'd never had them before, so he'd never bothered to learn the names for them.

Elizabeth laughed lightly, "Quoth the Raven, 'Nevermore'" She spoke fondly, quoting one of the lines from the poem, "I quite like that one, it is a beautiful poem. Sad too though." The woman looked at Carter and raised an eyebrow, "You're blushing?" she smiled again, her eyebrow still raised slighy

Carter looked up at Elizabeth. At first he wasn't sure how to react to being caught, but soon enough a smile crept across his face and he chuckled. "I've never had a talk like this with anyone before." he replied simply before he cocked his head to one side slightly. "So...what do you have planned for once you get out of here? Do you live nearby?"

Elizabeth laughed, "Most people your age aren't into literature. Or reading for that matter..." She said and then paused, "I don't really know where I'm going to stay..." Another pause, Liz wasn't good at thinking fast, "I was in town on business, and I guess I hadn't got far enough to sort out were to stay. Know where there are any hotels? Cheap, and nearby?" The woman wasn't the best liar, but because Carte didn't know her, she hoped he wouldn't notice the hesitation.

The small girl winced at the sight of the injures but let out the breath she was holding. "At lest they are not as bad as they could had been." She mumbled quietly, whilst tucking a stray piece of her hair behind her ear. "Your also lucky I am good with all the nursing back to health melarkly. My klutzy ways have given me a few tips on how to look after bumbs, bruises and cuts. Plus I sort my dad out to, when it comes to this stuff..." Bliss rambled on before blushing when she realised she rambled on a bit. "Sorry!" She squeak before looking down at her lap. Why can't you act around him like you do with Brandon? Bliss thought, frustrated with herself.

Carter took a moment to think about what he was about to say. Would she take his offer the wrong way? He hoped not. "You're welcome to stay at my home if you wish. We have a spare room at the moment that isn't being used. My family won't mind given the circumstances."Looking Elizabeth in the eye as best as he could as he spoke, Carter's voice remained unwavering as his words passed through his lips, something that surprised him.

Kylar chuckled and leaned forward for a moment, resting his hand gently on Bliss' head. It was something he had done often while he was her angel, but naturally she'd be unaware of that, barring the fact her hair would suddenly become a mess. "Don't be sorry. Honestly, it's sweet that you're offering...thank you."
As he finished speaking there was a gentle tap on the door. The nurse popped her head in and smiled at the two before looking at Kylar. "I'll be in shortly to check your dressings and to go over a few guidelines on what not to do while you recover and then you'll be free to leave. Do you live nearby, or would you like me to call for a taxi?"

When Nancy thanked her, Sky shrugged, and promptly bit her lip to stifle a whimper. Note to self, don't shrug for a while. When the pain had subsided, Sky gave Nancy another smile. "It's no problem. Although it worries me that whoever that girl was thought an appropriate reaction to her being wrong was to pull a bookcase onto someone. As to the verdict, the doctor didn't know how, but I got away with bruises, and that's it."

Elizabeth smiled warmly, and nodded slightly, "That'd be great. For a few days till I get myself sorted with something. Thanks" The woman was thankful for the offer and her smile didn't hide the fact, "I think the Docter said I'd be out soon, once they went over everything and such..."She mumbled, more to herself than to Carter.
As she spoke a young Nurse knocked and walked into the room, "Miss Kane, I'm just going to give you this perscription for painkillers, get them in a chemist on your way home. You were very lucky, all the vitals are good, no serious head trauma. Basically, you're free to go. But come back if there is any sickness or nausea in the next 24-48 hours." Placing a peice of paper on a small table the nurse left, closing the door behind her.

When Nancy came in, Sky couldn't help but wince at the bruise she could see on her (former?) charge's jaw. When she flinched, and then apologized, Sky smiled gently. "Don't apologize. That looks like it hurts." I wouldn't really know but... She thought, then spoke again. "Nice to meet you Nancy. I'm Skyler Michaels, although I prefer Sky. I don't feel like I'm in trouble then." She sat up carefully, grimacing as her own bruises were aggravated.
When Nancy thanked her, Sky shrugged, and promptly bit her lip to stifle a whimper. Note to self, don't shrug for a while. When the pain had subsided, Sky gave Nancy another smile. "It's no problem. Although it worries me that whoever that girl was thought an appropriate reaction to her being wrong was to pull a bookcase onto someone. As to the verdict, the doctor didn't know how, but I got away with bruises, and that's it."
Nancy's eyebrows shot up. "Only bruises? That thing took five or six people to lift back up." Hoping she wasn't being impolite, she sat down at the end of the hospital bed, careful not to disturb the sheets. "Well, you're either a superhero or incredibly lucky. I'm not willing to dump you into a vat of radioactive goop to find out, though, so don't worry."
As she continued to speak, she began to rummage around in her satchel. "Anyway, Little Miss Temperamental won't be getting away with attempted murder, as far as I know. My co-workers kept her locked in the storage closet until the cops came. Saw her get dragged outside, kicking and screaming and all that, just before we went with the paramedics. Aha, here they are." Nancy pulled out a wad of paper and held it out to Sky. "Coupons to last you a whole year. Mostly a 'thank you' from my boss for saving one of his employees, but it's also a 'Sorry one of my bookcases nearly killed you' kind of gesture."
Nancy caught a small glimpse of her reflection in her watch's face. Yep, the jaw was bruised nice and good; deep purple with just a hint of black (maybe) in the middle. Yikes. She liked sleeping on her left side too; this would just make her uncomfortable for a while.

Kylar chuckled and leaned forward for a moment, resting his hand gently on Bliss' head. It was something he had done often while he was her angel, but naturally she'd be unaware of that, barring the fact her hair would suddenly become a mess. "Don't be sorry. Honestly, it's sweet that you're offering...thank you."
As he finished speaking there was a gentle tap on the door. The nurse popped her head in and smiled at the two before looking at Kylar. "I'll be in shortly to check your dressings and to go over a few guidelines on what not to do while you recover and then you'll be free to leave. Do you live nearby, or would you like me to call for a taxi?"
Bliss let a blush form over her cheeks as she avoided eye contact with the nurse and Kylar. "By any chance is there a bus station near by? I don't exactly have enough money on me for a taxi." Bliss asked sheepishly whilst biting her lip, her eyes now dating to the door and then to the bed again, trying to not be too embarrassed.
