So I'm not sure if there's any interest here in this, but we're gonna try it anyway. This tournament is for 5th gen OU, and will be held on Pokemonshowdown.com (http://Pokemonshowdown.com) (a battle simulator run by Smogon, for those uninitiated; no signup, just enter a name, make a team and battle). Here is a rundown of the rules, which aren't all standard rules, so be sure and read them:
-6v6 Singles (A team of up to six Pokemon may be entered, and the battles will be conducted in a 1v1 playstyle)
-Team Preview (this isn't something you can really control, but I'm stating it just to be safe)
-Species Clause (No more than one Pokemon that share the same species name can participate in a team. This means that even alternate forms, such as Rotom, cannot be on the same team as well)
-Sleep Clause (No more than one opposing Pokeon can be put to Sleep by one of your Pokemon at a time. If they use a move to put their own Pokemon to sleep, this does not activate Sleep Clause)
-Evasion Clause (no moves that raise Evasion, such as Double Team, may be used)
-Freeze Clause (No more than one Pokemon on a team can be frozen. This is enacted without control)
-Sand Stream, Drizzle, Drought, Snow Warning, Sandstorm, Rain Dance, Sunny Day and Hail are all banned moves in this tournament, hence the name 'Clear Skies'
-The following Pokemon are banned:
- Arceus
- Blaziken
- Darkrai
- Deoxys (all forms)
- Dialga
- Excadrill
- Genesect
- Giratina (both forms)
- Groudon
- Ho-Oh
- Kyogre
- Kyurem (White and Black forms only)
- Landorus (Genie form only)
- Lugia
- Manaphy
- Mewtwo
- Palkia
- Rayquaza
- Reshiram
- Shaymin (Sky form only)
- Thundurus (Genie form only)
- Tornadus (Therian form only)
- Zekrom

I'm assuming this is 6v6 singles by the OU bit.. put me down too, I'm sure I can find some time to put aside.

Yep, 6v6 Singles, should have made that clear. I'll edit the post.
In the post, I asked if people thought it'd be fair if I entered, and I'd see what the majority thought. My main goal here is to promote more competitive activity, and if I, by some chance, win my own tournament, it may put people off playing. However, if everyone's fine with it, I'd be more than happy to play. :>

Signed you up! I promise you, weatherless is so much better than the current metagame. It actually involves skill, rather than Specs Politoed doing 80% damage with Hydro Pump to things that resist it.
And if everyone agrees by the time we have 5 or 6, I'll slide myself in there :3

Rich, you should definitely slide yourself in here. After all, it'd be nice to battle you at some point.

Alright, half the spots have been filled! I know Utack's okay with me joining the tournament, since we talk frequently through AIM, and I think Rob won't mind either, soooo... okay, I'm in :3
I actually haven't played competitive in months either and when I do it's usually Uber tier, so I'm sure I'll be a bit rusty, but hopefully I don't embarrass myself too much and lose right away! 8D;

As soon as we get an 8th entrant, I will setup the match-ups via RNG and we'll begin right away. :>
Deadlines and the such for each round will likely be 72 hours after the tournament begins, to give people a chance to setup times that work and such.

EDIT: Is it single elimination? Either way I'm up for it, but best 2/3 and 3/5 for finals I think is a better way to determine who moves up to the next round....

I was thinking this a few hours ago, actually. I'm gonna say best 2/3. If the final two are okay with best 3/5 before any of the matches begin, it'll be that, but if not, best 2/3 works.

Supposedly the Therian forms (sans Tornadus) and Kyurem-B are OU.

I only banned Therian Tornadus and Genie Thundurus.
I've banned Kyurem-B because base 170 Attack STAB Outrage. Kyurem-B has no hard counters at all. Hidden Power Fire deals with most Steel types in OU, CB Fusion Bolt is a 2HKO on Skarmory, Ice Beam deals with the best physical walls in OU, it gets Roost for recovery, Earth Power deals with Magnezone who resists it's STABs... basically, unless and until you know what set it's running, there is no such thing as a safe switch-in, and it sort of over-centralizes the metagame to have to run a counter for it or revenge-kill it.
However, if 4/8 of you agree that Kyurem-B should be OU, I'll allow it. It's not much of an issue for me personally, I just feel like base 170 STAB Outrage is too easily abused, especially with Magnezone to trap-kill Steel types that'd resist it.

Heads up: Landorus Genie form has been banned today, so it has been added to the list of banned Pokemon for this tournament. Muhed and I are doing our battles tomorrow night, so contact your battle partner and setup times!

I'm GMT too, so that's a good start.
Best chance of getting me is going to be either Thursday night this week after 9pm, or Friday evening after 7pm. Unfortunately I've got training on all nights this week, along with team sports tonight and tomorrow. Is that going to be any good for you?

I'm not sure about Thursday but Friday ought to be fine for me! However I don't think that the 72 hour limit will reach that far!

72 hours is more of a guideline to be honest. I'm not gonna kick anyone out if they need another day or so.

would've been one hell of an upset if I didn't choke in the third match

Man Muhed, those were some really good matches. You're still better than the majority of people that play OU now, and that's saying something. Great team, good games.

I'm unfortunately running into problems with Showdown, it crashes on Safari and it isn't any good on my old laptop. If I am unable to solve the problem, I may have to forfeit. If this is the case, I'll let you know.

JSM has said that Webby hasn't responded either, so I guess... if we can't get this done by tomorrow, I'd really like to move on, since this wasn't meant to be a long tournament and I don't want it to die before it has a chance, you know? I hope you and Utack can have your battles, though, I'd rather not have to push people forward!

Yeah, I don't think I'll be managing a battle with Utack soon. I've lost interest, so I'd be fine if I wasn't part of the tournament. I guess time zones are inconvenient (Urack is about 8 hours behind me).
Rich, you can have the final say on this matter, because the likelihood of me and Utack arranging a battle is small.

We had three really intense battles, and a LOT of hax on both sides (but mainly aimed at me, as f3raligatr will attest), but I just barely scraped by with a 2-1 win. Great job and great team, Rob, really. :>

I'd like to thank everyone for entering the tournament! We had some bumps along the way, but I'd call it successful for how many people we had. Now I'd like to know, is a monthly tournament something people would be interested in? I have plenty more ideas and gimmicks for interesting tournaments in mind, but I'd like to see if anyone would be interested in doing more arranged by me :>
