Following the moderate success of the last tournament, I've decided to give a shot at reviving my most popular tournament that I used to run years ago. Here's the breakdown for the rules of this tournament:
-Battles must be run on Pokemon Showdown, and will be best two out of three
-You must choose only one type, and 5 of your Pokemon must be of that type. The sixth Pokemon can be of any type, and dual-types are allowed in both cases.
-6v6 Singles (A team of up to six Pokemon may be entered, and the battles will be conducted in a 1v1 playstyle)
-Team Preview (this isn't something you can really control, but I'm stating it just to be safe)
-Species Clause (No more than one Pokemon that share the same species name can participate in a team. This means that even alternate forms, such as Rotom, cannot be on the same team as well)
-Sleep Clause (No more than one opposing Pokeon can be put to Sleep by one of your Pokemon at a time. If they use a move to put their own Pokemon to sleep, this does not activate Sleep Clause)
-Evasion Clause (no moves that raise Evasion, such as Double Team, may be used)
-Freeze Clause (No more than one Pokemon on a team can be frozen. This is enacted without control)
-The following abilities are banned for this tournament: Sand Stream, Drizzle, Drought, Snow Warning, Swift Swim, Chlorophyll, Sand Rush, Sand Veil, Snow Cloak, Moody
-The following Pokemon are banned:
- Arceus
- Blaziken
- Darkrai
- Deoxys (all forms)
- Dialga
- Excadrill
- Genesect
- Giratina (both forms)
- Groudon
- Ho-Oh
- Kyogre
- Kyurem (White and Black forms only)
- Landorus (Genie form only)
- Lugia
- Manaphy
- Mewtwo
- Palkia
- Rayquaza
- Reshiram
- Shaymin (Sky form only)
- Thundurus (Genie form only)
- Tornadus (Therian form only)
- Zekrom
Remaining types:
Normal
Grass
Fire
Water - f3raligatr
Electric
Psychic - Робин
Dark - Dracowrath632
Ghost
Bug
Steel - ShinyBlaziken2000
Rock
Dragon - Liam
Ice
Ground - Richard and Blaziken
Flying - JSM
Fighting - Inferna

As for how many entrants I'll allow... I'm going to see how many people are interested first. I used to allow 16, but I don't think we have that many people around and interested in battling, so I'll be allowing entrants for a while.

Question: If I like the shiny coloring, can I use it on my pokemon?

Shinies are fine on any and every Pokemon if it tickles your fancy.

Thanks, I know it was a pointless and dumb question, but some of the shiny colors look better, and my team may not be good because i'm a first time competitive battler.

I knew there was something I was forgetting. You may change your team between rounds, but not matches. So after defeating an opponent at least 2/3 times and moving on to the next round, it can be changed, but let's say you lose the first match of the first round, you cannot change your team for the second round of that match. Make sense?

I think I'll go for Flying. I think that could have some interesting versatility.

Okay, since you seem to be confused, I'll say it more clearly.
Each round has 3 matches. You can switch teams after a round. You cannot switch things in your team after a round, which is what I said. Everyone understand now I hope?

What you said is saying that between round you can switch your team, then you went back and said you can't switch teams after a round. If you replaced round next to the comma with match, that would've made more sense.

That'd be pretty bad luck for ya. The only one that you'd really have a problem with is steel.
I've sorted my team for the most part too. Obviously it may need to change depending on which type I'm against (I assume that's the purpose of being able to alter your team?)

I'm going to put on a confident face and say I'm not afraid of steel types. Go Dragons! You glorious, overpowered lovely persons.

I like dragons too, probably would've been my 3rd choice (Psychic, then Steel then Dragon).
Dragons can still beat steel, they all learn fire moves (& Earthquake, I think)
Actually, how on earth does Altaria use Earthquake?

I speak to Utack on a daily basis, and I can confirm that he won't be joining this one, as it's too much trouble for him to setup time schedules with everything else he has going on.

I'm still givin' it time. We have someone that's interested in Grass after the 15th, so I'm fine with waiting. If we end up with 8, that's enough for a 3 round tournament, I'd be alright with beginning then. If we get more, great! If not, no big loss. :>

Team now made and tested! I *think* I'm pleased with it. Not going to do as well as last time I think though.

I built an ou rain team for the sheer fun of it, and I'm pretty pleased. I'm not going to test my team for the tourney, because I'll be torn to shreds in ou with other, so I'll wing it when the time comes.

Yeah, I've built mine and tested it to death :laugh: It's done fairly well, I suppose I just need to hope I get a lucky matchup now :tongue2:

Alright, sorry about the delay everyone, but I've been incredibly busy while also coping with a back injury lately, so this took a backseat to everything else for a while. But we have 8, and that's an even number, so we're going to begin!
