SQUADS: Something old, something new...
« on: December 23, 2007, 17:03 »
Our next advent feature, ladies and gentlemen, is called 'Squads'. Why squads, you ask? Well, because it features squads of Pokemon.

Yes, we make part of the Teambuilding forum redundant, as our new feature allows you to create your own squad of Pokemon. Give moves, abilities, and whatever more.

This feature was partially coded by Psythor, this time it's not completely my own.

SQUADS

One thing, though... the valid moves information is currently retrieved from the list of moves associated with a Pokemon in Dex. That list is not yet complete. If you want to help with that, again, contact me through IM, email or IRC so I can give you information on how to submit these.

Haha, this actually looks pretty neat.

And you can update and change it, right? If so, I may make pretty great use of this.

This thing is a really good feature, gogogo Joeno and Psythor! :D
The above statements are masterfully crafted fabrications.

This is going to sound snarky, but I'm going to keep repeating it. There's that 'Report Errors link at the bottom of every site page. Please use that, it's far easier for me.

I suppose not everyone may read the announcement, but it is explained there...

We don't absolutely have to use this right? It seems a little arrogant but I'd rather just do it over the forum, I'd feel more comfortable.

Yeah, I got this message upon trying to post my squad:

We could not set your squad live for the following reason(s):
Pokemon with national dex number 282 has moves listed that it cannot learn, or (more likely at this stage), we have not yet been able to add its moves to Dex to verify. If you wish to help us get this resolved (and hence be able to submit your squad), ask Joeno for more information.
Pokemon with national dex number 373 has moves listed that it cannot learn, or (more likely at this stage), we have not yet been able to add its moves to Dex to verify. If you wish to help us get this resolved (and hence be able to submit your squad), ask Joeno for more information.

I'd be more than happy to help out with Attack lists for Pokemon, including 3rd gen tutor moves and Platinum tutor moves if you'd like. =)

I actually have some code written by now that automatically transfers the information, so that's no longer necessary. I just need some time to run it for the large group of Pokemon that is still waiting. More once I get back from London...
