Title: Are the daleks in the asylum actually insane?!
Post by: The name master on June 01, 2016, 21:23
For those of you who don't know what a dalek is:

"the Daleks openly acknowledged a single Time Lord, the Doctor, as their greatest enemy. The Doctor described them likewise, and his tenth incarnation stated that a Dalek was "not just metal, it [was] alive," and that "nside that shell, there [was] a creature born to hate, whose only thought [was] to destroy everything and everyone that [wasn't] a Dalek, too."

Anyone who's watched the episode asylum of the daleks, you'll see a scene where

Spoilers if you haven't watched the doctor who episode asylum of the daleks!
Spoiler: show
the doctor goes through "intensive care" the doctor says that "these are the daleks who survived him" the Daleks then wake up and attack. Oswin then deletes all information about the doctor from the daleks, making them forget who he is.

One question though. Why do the daleks stop trying to kill the doctor? They kill everything and everyone. No matter who it is.

Don't need to. I wrote it. With the intent of discussion. Not mocking my post. Or whatever you're doing.

Are the daleks in the asylum actually insane?!

insane?!

are we trying to go into mental theory re: daleks or

anyway in regards to the question-that-isnt-really-a-question - you cant plot to kill something that you dont remember, simple as. you dont even know they exist. you answered your own question in the post???

Yeah, but you don't need to know/remember who the person you are killing is to finish killing them. Especially if you're a dalek.

The daleks want to kill every other living thing. If they're in the middle of killing someone, they don't just.... Stop because they don't know the person.

you cant plot to kill something that you dont remember, simple as. you dont even know they exist.
You don't know they exist despite the fact that he's right in front of your face?

PS: love Matt Smith! Favourite doctor!

PPS: the way the daleks say "DDDDDOOOCCC-TTTTOOOORRRR!" is really creepy. They're like zombies! I'd be pretty scared if the daleks started saying my name like that! "TTTHHHEEE NNNAAAMMMEEE MMMAAASSSTTTEEERRR!" Or on second thoughts, I might lol!

Well, they were all half-dead, and it was only their hatred for the doctor that woke them up. Maybe once that was gone they had enough energy to stay awake but not enough to exterminate anyone.

Either that or moffat couldn't be bothered coming up with a better ending.

(Also you are objectively wrong about matt smith. He's good, but he's no david tennant.)

I don't think the daleks need a lot of energy to use the toilet plunger. I have a doctor who encyclopedia, and it says that it uses it when low on power....

BTW, what's the chances of a dozen daleks in the same room without guns? Coincidence???
