Has anyone else played this yet? What do you think?

So far I've enjoyed learning languages and feeding new animals. It's all strangely therapeutic!

Random Randomness / Computer trouble
« on: February 15, 2016, 09:11 »
Essentially, the email account I used for my windows 10 laptop no longer exists. My dad changed the family accounts without telling me, giving me no chance to change it on my laptop.

This would not have been a problem had I remembered the password for my account, as I use a PIN on my laptop. Now I can't get a password reset, because the email address it is sending it to is invalid, and it has locked me out of attempting to sign in as all the usual passwords are apparently wrong.

Can you guys think of any way I can rectify this problem other than completely reinstalling Windows? Because I would rather not have to do that. Way too much effort backing everything up, but I'm getting to the point where I would rather like to change things on here.

PKMN.NET / Rules
« on: December 23, 2015, 16:26 »
There has been a huge increase in people breaking the rules lately. In particular, this includes double posting, the three word minimum, unnecessary topics, reviving or bumping dead topics, and general ill will against members.

Now while I hate to put a damper on everyone's Christmas, please remember that the staff are only human too. There is only so much we can do and let's face it, we're pretty busy people ourselves. The last thing we want to do is spend our time cleaning up the boards.

This is a general reminder to all of you, and I will be getting much stricter if this continues. If you need them, the rules are here should they need reiterating.

In other news, merry Christmas!

Random Randomness / A Level Results 2015
« on: August 15, 2015, 15:01 »
Congratulations to all those who received their AS and A2 results on Thursday! (I know it's belated; I've been busy training)

How did you all do? Where is your next big adventure taking you?!

X and Y/OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire / Spare Blazikenite?
« on: October 10, 2014, 00:55 »
I know this is a long shot, but here goes..

A friend of mine has recently restarted Y, meaning he's lost all of his items. He's not so worried about the other megastones, but Blazikenite was an event item, so he won't be able to get it back. He is, however, willing to trade whatever. (If I have what you want for it, I'll trade it myself)

If anyone's got one, he's also looking for a shiny ponyta, although I think that would be pretty cool to have myself xD

TV and Movies / 2014 tv series
« on: June 30, 2014, 00:35 »
How is 2014 shaping up for your tv entertainment?

For me it's been pretty amazing, with Bones season 9, Game of Thrones season 4, Penny Dreadful, Salem and the conclusions of Grimm s3 and Once Upon a Time s3!

It's been an emotional roller coster with most of these, not gonna lie, but so far I've enjoyed every bit and am looking forward to when some of these shows start up again in autumn =]

Music / Rubbish songs from your favourite artists
« on: November 13, 2013, 02:57 »
Okay, so we are all incredibly biased towards our favourite artists. And even I am notorious for defending them when other people cannot see why they are so amazing. But there is usually one or two songs that you do have to just put your hands up and say "Okay, now this /is/ a load of baloney"

For example, I love Alice Cooper almost unconditionally. Okay, I think his older stuff is a little weird, granted, but it's raw. I think most of his new albums are pretty daring, they get his point across, tell a story, and have fun.

But I cannot get myself to like Disco Bloodbath Boogie Fever, Don't Talk Old To Me, and the entire Pretties For You album. I don't know why.

ZZ Top. Easily up there with Alice Cooper as one of my favourites. Of the albums I have (yeah, yeah, I know I don't have them all, money is a thing that causes problems) the only song I can think of that I really don't click with is Mexican Blackbird. Maybe Thunderbird.

Do you guys find this too? That no matter how much you love a band, there's always that one song that gets on your nerves? (The theory being that if it isn't the case, they have yet to release material you feel this way about... it will happen!!)

Literature / How classical is classical?!
« on: September 29, 2013, 00:55 »
Now there's a question...

Which types of classics would you associate with literary "classics"?

How do you define "classic"? By age, or by timelessness?

There is, of course, the standard "classics" - Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist.

Then you have works from the likes of Shakespeare, Marlowe or, going back further, Chaucer.

And then you come to classics regarding antiquity.
Homer, Plato, Thucydides. Works of no known author such as Ancient Egyptian stories..

Which classics do you consider truly "classic?"

Random Randomness / What could you never live without?
« on: August 13, 2013, 23:05 »
I mean, genuinely.

I don't think I could cope without a mobile phone, simply because it's a lifeline. (Even if my phone is currently acting up somewhat rotten)

If we're talking about bare essentials, I need Ted, a hairbrush and something to tie up my hair...

Yeah, I think that would sort me out. What about you? What could you not live without?

Literature / When is the best time to read?
« on: August 24, 2012, 00:14 »
I love a good book, but these days it seems like I do not really have much time, so I like to try and find it wherever I can.

For me, the best time to read is when you're relaxed. On holiday, for example, when you have a day to yourself to just chill on the beach, by the pool, wherever, with your nose stuck in a book.

Mind you, given the chance I can read anywhere. I usually choose to do so on my break at work, sitting by the bar with a good book. It's less anti-social than bringing my 3DS, seeing as I can read and still hold a conversation without shouting needlessly at the console...
