Well, I've gone ahead and bred myself the Impish Hitmontop, and my god is it difficult trying to get Tyrogue to level while balancing it's Attack and Defense to be equal. Aaaand...now I feel really bad, it evolved and ended up with the wrong ability! Drat!

That bites.

Dick, by your logic, defog will take your hard placed hazards off your opponent's side.

ZD, hazards are not required, just very helpful.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say:
ZD isn't running any hazards bar Sticky Web on Galvantula, and as Galvantula is weak to SR, it is highly likely you'd be using defog BEFORE sending out Galvantula, as you wouldn't want him to get killed!

Well, now I'm leveling my Hitmontop. His name is Achilles and he'll be running Rapid Spin, Toxic, Stone Edge, and Close Combat. Unfortunately he has Technician instead of Intimidate, which will luckily boost Rapid Spin but nothing else, and since Carracosta is holding my Leftovers I don't know what to give him item wise. Maybe a Shell Bell or a Choice Band?

Stop right there. If possible, get Mach punch.

This is why: 40 base

STAB + Ability + Priority

That's roughly  80-90 base with priority.

^Mach Punch is an Egg Move, unfortunately

Low Sweep, however, could be a useful alternative to Close Combat. It is 135 BP (60 + STAB + Technician) instead of 180 BP (120 + STAB), but instead of lowering your defences it will lower their speed. It's not superior, by any means, but a viable alternative.

As for items, maybe a Red Card?

^ Why does that not surprise me?

Then Quick attack may suffice.

Close combat can be kept

I really dislike Aurorus' typing tbh. X4 weakness to fighting AND steel as well as a weakness to ground just makes it a little too weak for a wall.

You haven't read the entire thread then, because I mentioned replacing it with Carracosta as my tank.

Carracosta, still? Not a good idea to me.

A good tank is porygon2. 1 weakness.

If you did go with P2, it's worth noting that the item should be Eviolite!

Also, if you can find room, TWave is a great move for spreading status!
