Favourite types and combinations
« on: March 03, 2013, 06:00 »
What is your favourite type? And also your favourite type combinations? I love Dark, Electric and Dragon types. Best combinations would be Dark/Electric or Dragon/Electric.
Wish we get a Dark/Electric Pokémon in Gen VI.

I thought Shinx's final evo would have been Dark/Elec. but it wasn't to be... :(

Ground/Elec. would be pretty cool :P
Awkward :/

And we already have a Ground/Electric. Stunfisk!

Yeah I guess, but I don't really like Stunfisk. And I apologise to any Stunfisk fans but in my opinion its just... ugly. It would be nice if they made some nicer looking ones  ;D But apart from that, I think the Steel/Grass combination is really cool, apart from the 4x weakness to Fire types, but everything has a downside :L
Awkward :/

Well, yeah, Stunfisk is too...meh.

I like the Grass/Steel combo too. Ferrothorn was a cool Pokémon.

We have two Water/Fighting Pokemon, and that's two too few. Surprised we don't have an Electric/Fighting by now, too. Empoleon's alright, but what I'm really waiting for is a Water/Steel based off liquid metal. I know we have three already, but I've recently developed a taste for Ground/Flying and wouldn't mind having another, nasty Ice weakness aside. I want a Water/Bug that isn't Surskit (even though I like it and Masquerain both) and a Bug/Dragon (preferably not a legendary) as well.

As for what my favorite types are, well, Water and Fighting are the big ones. Anything else after that usually shuffles around.

That's a nice thought, we could have shock-based signature move for that Electric/Fighting Pokemon.
I dunno about Water/Fighting, I never liked either of them.
Bug/Dragon is cool too. I'd love to see a parallel Grass/Dragon Pokemon, like Pinsir-Heracross.

As far as offensive prowess goes, Fire/Fighting is fantastic typing, as seen by Blaziken's rise to Ubers with the right tools. It's just walled by so little, and with Blaziken's power, even resists take huge damage from Hi Jump Kick after a Swords Dance.

I like the idea of Fire/Grass. It'd be great offensively and defensively. Fire Blast, Flare Blitz, Leaf Storm and Wood Hammer are all great offensive tools, while Leech Seed is a fantastic defensive move, and it could be a good SubSeeder with the right stat layout.

Psychic/Dark would be neat typing. Only weak to Bug, though it's quad weak to it. I'd just like to see it happen to see what it'd bring to the table.

I agree. I was sorely disappointed when Game Freak spammed the starters with that typing and gave us bad Pokémon too.

But I don't know how much that sense would make in a Pokémon.

It's rumoured that Yveltal could be Dark/Psychic. That would be great.

Fire/Grass would be an amazing pokemon, especially if it got Rock Head, base attack over 115 and base speed over 105. Flare Blitz/Wood Hammer/Stone Edge/Swords Dance would be an amazing set.

Fire/Grass with chlorophyll could be useful, depending on the weather situation in the coming metagame. Finally a chlorophyll Pokémon with STAB + Sun boost fire? Yes please.

As for my favourite types, water and ground. Quagsire4life.

I'd like to see a steel/ice Pokemon <3 Two of my favourite types, and it'd be interesting to see what kind of Pokemon you'd get from that typing!
... Or maybe it'd just be Slowbro's tail-monster-creature-thing with icicles on it...

Are you interested in spriting, or improving it?

I'll just throw Blaziken against it. xD
4x weakness to Fire and Fighting too. Not very useful.

As much as I love the Blaziken shout-out, don't rule a type out just because it has weaknesses. Ice/Steel could be very useful as something to bring in on Dragons as they Outrage/Draco Meteor, especially if it's very bulky. Even though almost every Dragon carries a Fire attack, and it'd be HP Fire Magnet Pull Magnezone bait... yeah, it would probably end up in UU unless it had some very specifically wonderful stats, ability and movepool. Even so, I like the idea of the type.

Totally forgot about Steel resisting Dragon. Yeah, that could prove quite useful.
