In relation to aspergers, it's not its own disease anymore. It's just called high functioning autism now.

no its not.

love an autistic who was diagnosed twice, knows the functioning labels are bull, and also knows aspergers was a seperate subtype (which has been folded into the spectrum, bu is still a thing).

also, its not a disease. its a neurological disorder on a spectrum. aaaaaaaa

he worded it a bit cruedly but yes as of DSM-V (not the ICD tho) its just part of the autism family and its really difficult to place it apart from the mild/moderate end of the autism spectrum on a medical/diagnostic criteria. i wrote a big dumb carepost about PDD and how thats actually the "family" which has autism in it and the complications surrounding diagnoses and my rudimentary understanding of the neurobiology and biochemistry of autism but it was too boring to read and im still researching myself about everything anyway so it lives on in "posts that died.txt"

AS not being a thing anymore annoys some people cos they thought it was Special Gifted Person with a slight fondness for trains but still Normal And Gifted and none of the stigma of the disability of being developmentally disabled but nope we're all one big special needs squad now wahaaaahhaah

edit: last bit sounds passive aggressive but its more with people who kind of munchausen their way into wheelchairs when they can walk fine and complain about their carers on social media. i (used to) know one of these sorts.

gonna lick everyone in this topic so they get my autism germs and everyonell bite their pencil erasers off and uncontrollably pee in their pocket protectors at once wahahahhahahah

It's coming up to 2am and my brother's playing the guitar but it doesn't matter because I'm the only one without hearing problems in the house lol. I'm going to kick off in the morning tbh.

Also, I was going to ask out a crush today but she's been super slow and you've gotta keep things flowing and smooth.

Had to call in sick because I've been throwing up on the reg recently. Super annoying since it's random.

Great, then everyone on Earth can be extremely socially awkward, therefore making everyone on the same social footing. This is it guys, the equality we've been looking for.

My grandfather who rarely comes around visited yesterday. I was worried he was going to be sexist and racist as per usual but he was extremely well behaved and nice. He even apologized for the past couple of years with my parents' divorce and how he's acted. The reason this is a problem is that I feel like crap for assuming that he was going to fly off the rails like he usually does. So yeah, I stereotype my own family members, yay i'm a shining example of morality.

^eh, I wouldnt say assuming someones going to act the same way theyve always acted is the same as stereotyping. You shouldnt feel bad for him owning up to his mistakes. Think of it more as a pleasant surprise than anything else.

I get to work tomorrow night, so yaaay. Also were open late, and also theres a footie match on, so either well be insanely busy all night or everyone will stay home out of fear and well be totally dead.

I'm someone with 'high functioning autism' and lemme just say for the record that just because someone has this kind of autism does not mean that they won't have some of the other quirks like repetitiveness and things having to be a certain way so that comes with the territory. Just saying I feel for you.

One of the guys I work with looks like The Weeknd and it's struggles for me cos I adore the Weeknd and I'm not sure if I'm a little bit in love with him or whether I'm just projecting my feelings for The Weeknd onto this unsuspecting poor dude

Fell asleep at like... 8pm, woke up at about 2:40am and now I can't sleep.

I also kind of miss the aesthetics from the late 90s and early 2000s.

Funnily enough, my brother has made a career out of telling paranoid mothers that vaccines don't cause autism.

Anyhow- Civilization V decided to play up and it took me forever to fix it. It also means that I've had to start again when I was halfway through steamrollering through Poland (As Thatcher).
