Just defeated 8th Gym. My team is coming along well but they're a tad under-leveled as my teams always seem to be. ^.^

HELIOLISK IS FANTASTIC & OMG HOW DID I CATCH A ZOROARK OKAY. He's under-levelled massively but so what, he'll train.

there are so many cool Pokémon, I can't pick a team of 6. I'm just gonna rotate Pokémon in and out as I need them/find cool new ones.

at the moment, I have the following in rotation

Pikachu - Lv. 7
Spewpa - Lv. 10
Chespin - Lv. 11
Fletchling - Lv. 11
Butterfree - Lv. 10
Beedrill - Lv. 10
Litleo - Lv. 11
Torchic - Lv. 13
Pidgey - Lv. 11

Red denotes my current party, while green denotes boxed Pokemon. Thinking about adding Panpour to my rotation, since I need a Water type, but I don't think he's that great a Pokémon honestly.

I found one in the grass on Route 5. Raising it is a bit tough, since it's not too strong and it seems to level slowly, but I need a Flying type for my team and I like Dodrio.

Doublade Lv 36 (considering dropping it since it hasn't learnt too many good moves, plus there are a few other pokemon I want to train)
Tyrunt Lv 36 (holding off on training it until the morning since apparently it evolves during the day)

Greninja Lv 37 (Might drop him for another water type, maybe Lapras)

Just reached Cyllage city. my team so far:

Tyrunt LV.21 (just got him at the fossil restorer. rock/dragon sound's cool!)
Braixen LV.24 (Have a bit of a tradition of always choosing the Fire-type to start with on my first run.)
Honedge LV.24 (A SWORD POKEMON. EPIC. NUFF SAID)
Wartortle LV.24 (was tempted to choose charmander but hard to justify two fire-types on a team. next playthrough for definite)

also currently using a Kangaskhan I caught in glittery cave as a HM Slave.
just need a flying-type now and I'm sorted.

Oh my gosh, I just Mega Evolved Blaziken for the first time, you have no idea man, it's like I'm 10 years old right now. Just grinning like an idiot and watching him kicking in the faces of innocent wild Pokemon, I can't even handle how awesome this is.

You've kinda walked past where the Honedge are, at least, the only ones I've met (I've beaten 4 gyms, so I don't know about after that)!

If you want to know they're on Route 6 (just copy and paste it if you want to know, if you want to avoid spoilers then I haven't given it away, but you have already been there)

Bagon's are up on Route 8 I think it is? It's the cliff side of the connecting cave, in the grassy patches up there. I think they're fairly rare though.

Ended up settling for a core team of six, as it currently stands I have;

Beedrill - Lv30

Alakazam - Lv31
Quilladin - Lv30
Fletchinder - Lv30
Wartortle - Lv30

I kind of want to rotate my team around a bit, bring in some fresh Pokémon but it's hard to decide who to drop and who to bring in.

Saving spaces for SWIRLIX and probably Hawlucha but nothing is certain. I can sorta see Bunnelby/Diggersby being dropped at some point which is a shame cuz I like them a lot but Bunnelby is dead weight at the moment. :/

My Braixen is at a ridiculous level considering I've only got 4 badges at this point. For me it's because I've been trying to catch everything I can before moving on. This has meant defeating lots of and lots of Pokemon whilst looking for the rarer encounters.

Going to replace Fletchlinder with Charmander soon... I like Talonflame's design a lot, but Charizard is a heck of a lot better stat-wise.  Not sure who will fill my last slot.  Also, I've been having major problems balancing my team... like for example, I wanted to include Torchic, but being a fire and fighting, I'd rather just have Charizard and Lucario on my team to play those types.  And I was thinking of including Sylveon if and when I get an Eevee, but then I remembered Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir are also part Fairy type.

Tried using the fairy flower line...not that great. Could just be the amount of poisons and fires you fight.

i don't know why it's so easy to get over-leveled in this game, i'm not even at the 4th gym yet. i really love this team though, they're all really great. i'm about to add dragalge when i can. still can't think of a nickname for aurorus. don't judge me on my greninja's name

that's probably it. flabebe is a slow start but once you get better moves with floette and higher levels/EVs it does very well and mine isn't even fully evolved yet

Completed X yesterday, and Y came on Tuesday (seriously losing faith in amazons ability to deliver on time)

I'm absolutely enjoying X, it's mind-blowingly good fun!  I got the game on Wednesday, and have since played it nearly non-stop.

Right now, I'm backtracking for an Illumise, as I plan to shiny hunt in horde encounters. I'm hunting for a certain pokemon...

I must say, I grin like a little child everytime I see my Mega Lucario or Charizard X tear Team Flare to pieces. In the power plant, I just used Charizard to blow each and every one of those people into smithereens. 'Twas fun.
Floette will not evolve until it learns Moonblast, but Doublade will not evolve for a while because I like it a lot. I don't have a Dusk Stone just yet anyways.

I am contemplating dropping my now Blaziken (sorry Richard) not because it's bad, but because it's so damn good that it destroys everything in it's path and it's getting far too tempting to just tear through the game with it! :/

This is completely understandable - Blaziken is completely overpowered, and the exp boost ended up with mine 10 levels above everything else by the end of the game. Still... wrecking things with Mega Blaziken is just too fun to pass up. >3>

I know I'm probably going to get a lot of flak for saying this... but I really dislike all the hoenn starters. I used to like Treecko, but at some point my mind just started to hate them. So I'll probably never use Torchic unless it's to fill pokedex information. Anyways...

I wasn't fond of them either - Torchic gets uglier and uglier, Treecko is weird from the start and always seems a little... unoriginal to me, but Mudkip is okay - it's just a shame that it's final evo is some awkward lizardish thing...

Pangoro is awesome, Vileplume is amazing, and Delphox is pretty fun too. Blastoise is ehh... Mega Blastoise is powerful, but it has a shallow movepool atm. I need more TMs.

You know the random rain that can come on routes? I think it means you have to level it up whilst it's actually raining on a route. Not using rain dance.

Yeah, I did this earlier, it was a pain in the ass. Rain came to a route for literally 1 minute. I stuffed a Rare Candy into his gut immediately. Most annoying way I've ever had to evolve a Pokemon, just sitting on a route for 3 hours waiting for rain, occasionally checking other possible rain routes. Ugh.

since exp share gets you really overleveled anyway, just change up your team after every gym/city/town/whatever

Team is now Slurpuff, Diggersby, Hawlucha, Venusaur, Greninja and I'm training a Goomy I recently caught. I don't usually care for Dragons but damn if Goodra ain't cute ;w; I still keep Blaziken in reserve.

I tend to mostly use Slurpuff, Diggersby and Hawlucha :/ I haven't been overwhelmed by either Venusaur or Greninja but I'm hoping they'll prove their worth towards the end...

I'm generally using Yveltal a lot right now cause i want to level it up, but when Yveltal fails, Aegislash usually destroys anything and everything. Same with Charizard and Tyrantrum. Greninja is only useful in some certain situations, and Snorlax is just awesome and very hard to level up.

I may or may not put Zygarde on my team. He (or it) seemed pretty weak when I battled it with my Yveltal (Lv 69 vs Lv 70).

Since a lot of my team right now are females, I'm planning on breeding them once I've finished the main story arc for competitive usage.

I have a quick question regarding my eevee, if anyone is willing to indulge me. Her nature is Quirky, and her IVs are 3 HP/26 Atk/23 Def/29 Sp.Atk/18 Sp.Def/31 Speed. What should I evolve her into? I caught her a while ago and planned to make lots of babies so that I could have more options, but I would like her on my team for now, and I have no idea what to evolve her into so that it would benefit both the team and play to her strengths. Ideas? Thanku

Im inclined to agree with Richard. Even disregarding IVs, Jolteon would fit quite nicely on your team type-wise. One thing to check is his Hidden Power in Anistar City. If it's ice, definitely go for Jolteon! I'd still recommend Jolteon regardless, although with that IV spread Leafeon could be a viable choice too

ShiraBliss, I have to say that Sylveon worked well for me for awhile. My Sylveon knows Misty Terrain, Charm, Moonblast, and Last Resort, though it was pretty much useless until it learned Moonblast. Stat-wise, it's... got very good sp. atk (which is to be expected), but defense is  why I took it off my team.

Oh, and contrary to popular belief, you don't have to get maximum affection to evolve Eevee into Sylveon. Eevee just has to level up while knowing a fairy type move. So, if you don't want to get a Sylveon accidentally, don't teach it a fairy move (I actually accidentally got mine. I wanted an Umbreon).

God damn it I've strolled through every battle in this game so far only to get to the Elite Four and discover a huge, gaping, crater sized Water weakness in my team. Why did I drop Venusaur >_<

first run through just got both games today - not even on first gym yet, looking for a flechling.

Probably going for venasaur because talonflame is part fire - will be saving before i get so i can soft reset for a good nature and possib. shiny. Will be checking all of their IVs when they hit 25.
