Title: Richard's X/Y WiFi tournament!
Post by: Richard and Blaziken on December 13, 2013, 07:45
Alright, so I don't expect huge amounts of interest for this, but I have been breeding competitive Pokemon quite a lot and I just really want to use some of them. This tournament isn't really meant to be taken too seriously, so if you just want to have fun, that's fine too, sign up! Here are the rules:

-6v6 Singles, Open Level (A team of up to six Pokemon may be entered, and the battles will be conducted in a 1v1 playstyle). Don't do level 50 all unless both of you can agree on it.
-Team Preview (this isn't something you can really control, but I'm stating it just to be safe)
-Species Clause (No more than one Pokemon that share the same species name can participate in a team. This means that even alternate forms, such as Rotom, cannot be on the same team as well)
-Sleep Clause (No more than one opposing Pokeon can be put to Sleep by one of your Pokemon at a time. If they use a move to put their own Pokemon to sleep, this does not activate Sleep Clause)
-Evasion Clause (no moves that raise Evasion, such as Double Team, may be used)
-Best 2/3 Battles will be conducted in a best two out of three style, meaning that you have to beat an opponent two out of three times to be declared the winner. You may record the matches if you feel there may be a dispute.
-OHKO Clause (OHKO moves such as Sheer Cold and Horn Drill are banned(

-The following Pokemon/items are banned:

This tournament will run until either of these conditions have been met:

-A winner has been determined
-December 27th

Spaces open:
Richard and Blaziken (1547-5283-8177)
Chlo (4914-3828-9371)
RubyRobin (3566-1602-6874)
-

(More spaces may become available depending on interest)

I forget - does open level raise your level to 100 if you aren't at it? If so then I'll enter, but if not I don't have a team at that level =/

Banning Gengarite XD understandable but Kangaskhan-Mega? it's not that strong. Neither is MeGar though...

...AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAno. Kangaskhanite is about to be banned because literally nothing in the game can switch into it. It 2HKOs Lugia after SRock. It 2HKOs Giratina at +2. It 2HKOs Gliscor. Gengarite isn't banned because it's "strong", it's banned because it chooses what it wants to kill and puts a full stop to any defensive strategies. Do some research on both of them, the findings may surprise you.

Anyway, Open Level does not raise a Pokemon's level to 100, it keeps it at whatever it is. I'll add you in, Chlo.

Right - i think I should be able to get my team into at least the 90s so I suppose it's not too bad so I'll enter! I know you have it, but my FC is 3566-1602-6874.

Also, there's no OHKO clause - is that intentional or just missed?

Ah, forgot to add it, thanks for reminding me! Added you as well.

My teams at level 100 now (I love the restaurants xD)

And just wondering - is Talonflame normally banned or is this just something you added? I don't really care as I wouldn't use one anyways, I was just wondering if I'd missed the ban or something?

Talonflame is something I added because I believe it's broken. The SD set has 2 OU counters that we currently have access to, and it can easily U-Turn out of both of them. Stealth Rock can be Defogged or Rapid Spun away and it has priority Roost regardless.

Ah right, that's fair enough. Out of interest, what's the other counter? I assume one is tyranitar?

Tyranitar and Bold max/max Rotom. And if Rotom comes in on the SD, it better not miss with Hydro Pump or else it's 2HKO'd by Brave Bird without doing anything.

It's quite a similar case with TTar, Steel wing (I've just checked) 2HKOs 252/252+ TTar after SD, so if stone edge misses he isn't countering it either

Alright, so there's not much interest, but that can't stop us from having fun, right? After rolling an RNG with me being 1, Chlo being 2, and Dick being 3, it came out 1, so here's how the matchup will go:

Chlo vs. Dick

Winner faces me I suppose? It's all for fun anyway. Good luck to you both!

Sounds good - and we've arranged our battle to most likely take place Sunday afternoon!
