bringing in a wage cap would have to be a FIFA/UEFA implemented thing too. If just England and Scotland have a wage cap, then all the money hungry players (Tevez, Rooney, Nasri etc) will just go to other leagues because they can have all the cash they want.

A wage cap would make players play for clubs they want to play for or stay at clubs longer, rather than making them play just for the money

Man City won the Community Shield (I know it's only an over-glorified friendly but still); Premier League weekend starts in 6 days. Also Rangers are about to become Newcastle's Z Squad or something lol

^ In relation to this I'd like to add that Ivanovic won't have a suspension due to changes in the rules following a double suspension for Rooney and Scholes in a pre-season friendly.

The season started earlier with Cardiff beating Huddersfield 1-0 in the Championship.

I'm thinking of doing a prediction thing each week to see how well I do. Might compare them with Lawro on BBC and see if I do better or worse lol

Petric and Michu (of Swansea) are on fire today! On first impressions they both look like impressive signings!

Anyone else seen Paul Walsh's hairdo on Soccer Saturday is legendary; a throwback to those awful ones in the '90. Classic.

Also anyone else not surprised by the first goal in the Prem season being from a Rob Green mistake? Lmao

Michu has been so good.

Petric has got an assist now, too!

4-0!

Woop woop!!

Petric off for Rodallega!

Who's this Dempsey guy? O0

Those two are Man United players... And I don't believe in coincidences...

^ They had to serve their suspensions though; that's why it changed =P

Today's scores have all been incredible!

Arsenal 0 - 0 Sunderland - Arsenal need their RVP back. haha!

Fulham 5 - 0 Norwich - Mladen Petric is a beast. I told everyone to watch out for the destructive force of Fulham. 2012/2013 title here we come.

QPR 0 - 5 Swansea - This score actually surprised me. I know QPR are awful but Laudrup has seemed to have made an amazing signing in Michu (for only £2mil, which is a steal). Rob Green what are you doing?

Reading 1 - 1 Stoke - ALF!!!

West Brom 3 - 0 Liverpool - Oh dear oh dear oh dear what a crummy debut for the new manager.

West Ham 1 - 0 Aston Villa - Meh.

So glad the football is back ;__;

Our players don't look fit at all; definitely lacking in that sharpness. Wouldn't be too surprised if we lost tbh but I hope we can pull through =]

Congratulations to Celtic for winning the SPL today!

If only there was a like button  ;D . We are playing terrible 6 mins in and already Chelsea have scored twice, one from Ivanovic(who shouldn't be playing) and the second from a Lampard penalty, Looks like we won't be contuining our form from the end of last season.

I only caught the last 10 mins of Chelsea v Wigan... saw the goals when Jamie Redknapp did his analysis too. Hazard looks good. Oscar > Mata btw.

Shame Balotelli isn't starting =/

A nail biting game at Man City! Despite being 1-0 up and then being 2-2 down, Nasri and Dzeko have taken the three points with a 3-2 win. Southampton will do great with performances similar to these, me thinks.
