Hello, this is Hitmonchu's sprite factory!
This is where you can request a sprite, and one of our spriters will fill it out!

Ooh. I'll be the first to post in a sprite thread. Well this one. Refreshing (tee-hee!... No? I thought it was funny) one of my main questions is what will this thread or even more important this WEBSITE do with these fan-made sprites?

We don't do anything with them, but whenever you put anything on the internet, anyone could use it at any time without your consent or knowledge. However, most likely, nothing will be done with any of them. \o/

I can do: Recolor is easy, I enjoy fusions but its always easier when peeople specify the details like the base and colors and whatnot.

I request a sprite that is basically a mix between Infernape and Lucario. Lucario's colours and spikes and some Infernape colours and Infernape head and fire but with a Lucario-like face.

Po6 I couldn't decide which looked better so I made two versions. they were hard... very hard to make considering the colors were almost "organic" meaning I had to make them from almost scratch. @Blaziken: its so small. not much space.. it will be done though.

If there was a good app I still wouldn't recommend doing it. Touch soreness are too... Unstable for something so picky. By picky I mean that there are lots of things that need pinpoint accuracy that only a mouse could really do. That's also why I don't like laptops. But to answer your question: not that I know of. The most you could do on an iDevice is add filters and overlays to a sprite. Sorry.
Also I can't sprite right now I'm at a pool with my team. Ill do everything when I get home.

there aren't any. like I said the only things capable of spriting are programs like paint or photoshop with a large arsenal of tools and colors. no app that I have ever seen can do anything close to even the simplest MSPaint program. don't you have access to a desktop?
EDIT: Im leaving in half an hour so I wont be able to finish any more sprites. maybe one simple recolor but don't count on it. ill be back around 9:30 or so .

No, I did have a laptop for about 6 years but when it broke I never bothered replacing it because my iPad can do most stuff it could. Besides, I'm not really that artistic anyway, my sprites may be able to rival garbordor ;D
When/If I bother replacing/fixing my laptop, I'll definitely give spriting a try though.
I don't bother with desktops at all, I never sit still and I don't like waiting for them to boot up.

I like the bottom one better. The ring slides right on the stinger and it fits the shape of Beedrill's body, and it doesn't cut off the antennae and make it look messier like the top one does.
Also, I like how you guys are really into it! They look great. ;D

Request: Onix mixed with Voltorb, but do it in a Magnezone form. Put two Voltorbs one on each side of Onix at its lowest point. Make sure the Voltorb outlines are taken off so that the two Pokémon mix. Any of you guys could do this request. Thanks!

*Here's a job for WaffelzRequest: Onix mixed with Voltorb, but do it in a Magnezone form. Put two Voltorbs one on each side of Onix at its lowest point. Make sure the Voltorb outlines are taken off so that the two Pokémon mix. Any of you guys could do this request. Thanks!

On a side-note, Draghost, 1:I like the name. 2: you know that you will need to our sprite more than one spriter due to the multiple kinds of spriting. Hm... An elite "4" of spriting... Multiple contests for each sub-section of spriting Pokémon...

True, but I can outsprite many in Fakemon creation. BronySpriter is great at spriting, for example, but when he makes Fakemon he uses parts of existing Pokémon, which makes it less real and less of his own as well as less creative. I make mine from scratch, and they turn out pretty well. Curious?

Took me half an hour to find a sprite sheet and another 2 hours to re-paint the background(idiots need to keep backgrounds white). So I'll be going mobile if need be or if I'm bored... Though I won't be able to post finished works right away due to the need of wifi.

You have to save it specially. Instead of doing save as, do 'save for web and devices' and then instead of fiddling with the settings just do 'save'. Save it as images only and it'll come up with the animated gif... you don't need the html unless you plan to work with it in a website or something, I think.

First of all, "Can't you make your own sprites?" is not something you say to someone in a sprite shop. I'm sure everyone can sprite, but everyone can request, too. And the purpose of this shop is for people to request sprites. So imagine if that's what you said to everyone who made a request here? Nobody would come to your sprite shop, and that would defeat the purpose. I don't think you'd like it if you requested from someone and you were told that same thing, and it doesn't matter whether you can make your own or not, as I've said before. So you shouldn't say that for it's not appropriate here.

Capability: I'd say my capability was average/high, there are some that I find hard but I always try to make them look as professional as sprites can look!
Other: I kind of created my own type of sprite today it's like patterned recolours/devamps. here's a picture of the first few that I did (I don't have a name for the sprite yet.)

Basically, you make it so that there is only one base colour for each area of the pokemon and make some of it white and then move it onto a background/wallpaper (which I got off of images and therefore don't own! js) so that the white bits become that colour.

I don't know, I didn't make the sprite. xD Plus, Fearow's animation rotates the wings until they anti-alias, which means you can't work on them effectively when you're spriting. Same thing happens to Espeon's sprite with... everything that moves.

That last thing right there is what bothers me... There's an entirely new generation of pokemon coming out... Yet I don't think there will be sprites anymore. Just 3D models.... Then what?

I don't think they'll abandon sprites - even if they're going 3D they need some picture of each Pokemon for the time when 3D mode isn't switched on. Sprites are standard images of Pokemon - I think as long as Pokemon survives, sprites will too.

3D models don't need 3D switched on; it's pseudo 3D models when it's switched off. Like in LBP, sackboy isn't a sprite, he's a 3D model, but you don't need 3D to show it.

Gengar recently became my favorite Pokemon so I evolved it. Or attempted to. I call it Mortifalse, or Morifalse. Reasons being that "Mori"/"Morti" is Latin for "death" and "false" resembles "FALX", Latin for scythe. It works well because Gengar has doppelganger abilities, enabling it to create a false copy of what it is messing with. Left is normal, right is shiny. Ghost/Dark.

Lookss more like a smog. It should be brighter if neon. But red is hard to make neon. It is already the most vibrant color in our spectrum. I rarely ever see neon red

Well, I had a stab at this, It was hard to incorporate the pattern because We only see one side of Phanpy, If I had traced the whole outline with the yellow we'd have had to have assumed that it's whole other side is yellow, which it isn't so I only did it on the ears. It was a good challenge!

But not everyone agrees with you! I just find it a bit rude for you to be bashing people's sprites without any real constructive reason, all it does is create a hostile atmosphere. I would have said Liam's is fantastic because the technical ability required to get one of those costumes to look right is pretty difficult.

Right so I'm back but bear in mind I still can't scratch.. Animations will also be a bit rusty but recolors are fine.
And as for recolors, I can recolor pokemon as colors, not just other pokemon. Custom palettes, basically, if that's the term. (And it probably isn't). Just so y'all know. They'll be transparent by default too.

Quite enjoyed messing with the palette to manually recolor the wings too - I hope this was good enough since I wasn't sure if you meant like black colored wings or just completely pixel black, but this ended up looking better in either case.

Right I've just come in - I remembered the Alakarp first so I had been doing that in school. Out of sheer boredom I animated it too - so there's an animated version and an unanimated version. UNFORTUNATELY the animation on this one may suck horrifically (the preview looks terrible) but there's no way to tell until I put it here.

The pages of in game sprites that people who don't want to make a base from scratch use. So if you look on the dex here, or bulba, the sprites for each gen that are used... Actually. You can look at one on this site.
On the sidebar, under misc, there's a link called Sprite Resource. Click that, and open any of the pages that come up. What will load is a sprite sheet.
And Jackel, there currently isn't one for x and y. And it wouldn't be the 2d ones that are best for working with. Just look at the magnagate sprites compared to blue/red rescue and time/darkness/sky. Completely different, and much harder to work with

Walling is when you delete the main color scheme from a sprite in Photoshop and add a wallpaper behind it in Photoshop.
