Title: The Secret of Vivillion's Wings is Close to Being Cracked
Post by: Turner on October 11, 2013, 03:17
Have a read of this link (http://imgur.com/a/0Qt5N) (images included inside).

QuoteConfirmed:
- The patterns were assigned based on climate zones.
- Each country has a pool of possible patterns.
- You only can find one pattern in the wild.
- If you get a Scatterbug from another player, it will evolve into the pattern from that player.
- When you breed Vivillon, your region assigns the pattern regardless its parents.
- Once you started playing, changing your settings doesn't affect the pattern you get.

Not confirmed:
- How is your country exactly assigned? Settings? Hard-coded? Wi-Fi?
- How is your pattern exactly assigned? Random? Based on your province or state?
- What happens if you change your settings, reset your save and start a new one?

I'm sorry, but this is really awesome. I'm gonna make sure to catch a bunch of Southern UK Garden Vivillions and put them on Wonder Trade for other players to enjoy. I hope I get some good ones too, the Sun Vivillion looks awesome. I'm so happy about this news as I took a real liking to Vivillon the first time I saw it.

Whoa, now that's a pretty cool idea! I'll be sure and catch a bunch and trade 'em off to people here! Really digging the patterns too.

Edit: Looks like I'll be getting the Modern Pattern, being that I live in Illinois! I like it! :>

What would happen if I got a foreign Spewpa or Scatterbug and evolved it. Would it be the design from where it came from or would it be my design?

It would be the design from the OT's Location.

I got a Spewpa from someone who lived in Oregon the other day which evolved into High Planes Vivillon :-)

I'm a Garden Pattern and so is Dick... maybe we could make the list and then take it to the friend codes topic? - That's if Del doesn't mind.

I've got no issue adding stuff to the main post if other people compile the lists for me. :)

I'm not sure what pattern I have, but I imagine it's whatever the UK one is.

It's not made off the actual geographical location.  It doesn't make sense for me though.  I live in Pennsylvania.  A typical Temperate Climate state with trees all over.  You would think my Vivillon would be all nice and foresty right?  NOPE!  Polar Pattern!  lolwut?
