Sorry for the caps, but this is very important. Recently, a new glitch was found in (some?) copies of Pokemon X and Y version, where saving in Lumiose City can irreparably damage your game. If you would like to see this glitch in action, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a70QhOI0TI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a70QhOI0TI)
Be warned, as there is some swearing, but this is the only video that I could find that explains the glitch and shows it well.
thanks for the heads up now i can just buy the game when the patch comes out hahaha i am genius
Thanks Rich. Now, I'll keep a mental note for when I get X.
apparently there is a way to get around it, but don't quote me on this. If you mash the home button right before the game freezes, then get back in the game, you can continue play as normal. Also, seems that it only crashes near taxis, inside buildings and pokemon centers seem to be fine.
heard this is also mostly in the downloaded version too. i mean im not saying risk it if youve got the cart, but just be Extra Careful if youve got a download version
also apparently a lot of sprite glitches where pokemon are showing up as pure white or like some kind of matrix rejects
whens nintendo gonna patch this game lmao
^In the video the guy had a retail version, so I guess people need to be careful in both cases. :(
It's a shame, because this can only be bad, even if they do patch it. They can release a patch for everyone, and they can take down current X/Y on the e-Shop and replace it with a patched version as the only versions you can buy, and they can start releasing future X/Y carts with the patch included, but older carts won't have it right away, which means potential for anyone who buys retail versions, even years down the road, to encounter this glitch.
well couldnt they release the patch as free dlc with a notice in-game that its there? kinda like apple does w their app store or programs when you have an internet connection? :?
^ I support this idea.
Saved in Lumiose City like... 10 to 15 times so far during this playthrough, never had any problems. My game has been a bit laggy during the playthrough though with like... choosing moves, animation (especially in sandstorm, rain etc).
This kinda sucks though! BL

Only if they already included that functionality in the game. There might partially be with the holo-caster, but nothing that's really in-your-face obvious

When RS had the berry glitch, they had a patch that fixed the glitch when you traded or linked up to games like FRLG, Colosseum, XD and Emerald. They could do something like that where the patch can be download and distributed between players when they link up...
Or they could do the same DLC thing they did with Mario Kart 7.
^Basically what sylar is suggesting.
Update on the bug problem.

Can the downloadable fix apply to the retail game? I remember how I was able to download a fix onto the Wii for LoZ Skyward Sword. The game itself was a disc, but the fix worked for it.
I don't see why it can't work. If it doesn't then there's almost no point to releasing the patch since the majority of the people probably pre-ordered the retail version for free statues and stuff as usual.

just do that
Save inside the PokeCenter and you'll be fine :)
